Righteous Bros had several hits. That's my favorite though, Unchained Melody.

Lynn used to be a regular on Lawrence Welk, doing country songs. She had hits on the country charts. But she only had ONE cross over hit. And it was a dandy. Everyone loved it. "Love shouldn't be so melancholy."
