Cowboy Junkies have made several albums. I have some of them, so I don't think they could be considered a one hit wonder. But I'm not here to argue.

    Are you from Canada?

I'm not sure if this was ever hit, but it was featured in the movie "Natural Born Killers". It was originally done by the Velvet Underground in the '60's. The Cowboy Junkies haven't had a lot of commercial success outside of Canada, but I love them!

    Or so I've read.

and listen to Mary Jane Trout (Beaver) singing Hit us with The Truth. Clip 5.

Yes . . . great song by a talented lady. Thanks for the link and the trip down memory lane Chris. A lot from the era went undervalued IMO . . . our musicians were marginalised to some degree by mainstream radio . . . a bit of the old kiwi complex of the day.

Apart from Bruno and Beaver who are both gone now . . . I recall Tony Barry was part of the gang for a while. Geoff Murphy apparently left in disgust at all the dope-smoking going on LOL . . . clearly a mis-fit.

Who was the member that was/is your neighbour BTW?

    Great songs here . . . wow! . . . what a trip through the ages . . . thanks for your posts all!

Here's one crazy piece of work from 1970

FHN . . . My sisters (twins) who were 2 years older than me bought the 45 . . . every kid in the neighbourhood was walking around singing that song for weeks LOL

And when we weren't singing it . . . we still couldn't get it out of our heads.

    Wow . . . just had another quake here as I write . . . can you believe that? . . . almost 12 months of them now . . . just a baby one LOL

Per Wikipedia, this song made Paper Lace a one hit wonder in the US, but they had another hit in the UK called "Billy Don't be a Hero", which was covered by Bo Donaldson and the Heywoods in the US.

The worst song in the history of time.
