PSac, as I suggested earlier, what is the source of your information besides the Bible? You're using a book given to us in its present form by the Catholic Church, who would have been out of business if they couldn't sell their Indulgences. So of course it's going to say there is no reincarnation. You can't even tell us for sure who wrote Hebrews, because it sure as hell wasn't "Paul". Jesus raising Lazarus was an allegory. If it really happened, why didn't any historian write about it? Wouldn't this have created quite a stir?

Doesn't it even raise the slightest red flag for you that Christianity is the only major religion to condemn these philosophies as "heresies"? It does a major disservice to God to say that he would annihilate anyone's spirit forever, whether it be in hell or a state of unconsciousness. There is no crime worthy of such a punishment. The "egos" that cause all suffering are another story altogether, part of the "personality" that does not return.

All of these stories lose their meaning and purpose when they're read literally. It doesn't do us a damn bit of good if some guy raised dead people 2,000 years ago. What's important is that each of us has all we need internally right now to be a "Christ", which is a conscious energy and not a man.

    Fellow reincarnator here

For me, it is the only thing that makes sense and explains instinct.

The way I see it, instinct is wired into us but experiences do the wiring.

It explains lower life forms and higher ones.

I believe in the POSSIBILITY of reincarnation, as I have no recolection of any of my past lives.

I do feel drawn strongly to some parts of history and geographical locations.

When my sister was about four, she said that she used to be a boy.

We just laughed it off as cute.

I don't think the Bible is a good source of information, as the Bible has no cited page.

There are real places cited in the Bible, and some real people, but all of the miracles and some of the events as written lack backing.

The library could honestly put it in the fiction section.

I don't take it seriously, although I was strictly raised to.

While the RCC can take soem credit for the NT and some of the oldest manuscripts we have like the Vaticanus and Sinaiticus, it can't take credit for the OT being passed down.

Jesus was accused of sorcery and of using "magic" you can bet that was in direct reference to healing and raising the dead.

Why didn't a historian write about some 1st century desert prophet that suposedly raised a dead man?

    Jeez, I wonderr why.

There is NO passage that says the spirit will be annihilated, the spirit returns to God.

The soul can be destroyed yes, but the soul to a 1st centuty Jew ( or even before that) was the "living soul" that made up a person with a spirit and yes, the soul could be "destroyed".

I have always respected and admired your beliefs and whiel I may not agree with some parts of them, I do agre with others but that isn't the point.

If you make a claim that Jesus or the OT prophets taught reincarnation, there has to be some evidence of that and the evidence seems to be highly subject, that's all I am saying.

I wish I could believe in it, but since I have no past memories that I can find; it seems useless. Maybe a smatering of people can remember, but since the majority cant, it is a viewpoint that does not resonate with me.

That being said I wont rain on your parade. If it works for you go for it. Especailly because it has no impact on me. Unlike the Christian, Jews, Muslims, Hindus,...etc who love to rule our lives with their beliefs.

A white guy, a chinese guy, and a black guy are in heaven.

God tells them they all had good lives so he'll give them a chance to go back to Earth but they can't go back as humans. He tells them what they have to do. Run and jump off a cloud and right before they get to the end to yell out what they want to go back to Earth as.

The white guy goes first, he runs and jumps off the cloud and yells "I want to be a dog!". He lands as a dog and runs around.

The chinese guy sees this and starts running and jumps off the cloud and yells "I want to be an eagle!". And sure enough he's flying around as an eagle.

Now is the turn of the black guy. So he runs and as he's about to jump he trips and yells "OH SHIT!".................
