I live in the NW as well and have noticed these ads recently. And yes I was wondering if the JW's would ever do such an advertising campaign on TV! HA HA! at least Mormons seem more normal than witnesses and certainly don't have rules about "being no part of the world."

But I'm sure the JW's wouldn't spend their precious money on that! They need to keep it for the GB!

"Ziddina, change "Mormon" to "Roman Catholic" and you'd have a lot of what was said about JFK in 1960. ..." (JeffT)

Was JFK a bishop??? No? Then I don't think that he was as "involved" with the Roman Catholic Church as Mitt Romney is with the Mormons...

Although one could draw the analogy that the Roman Catholic Church has been meddling in politics for centuries, by the time JFK came along, they'd grown a bit "old in the tooth"...

On the other hand, Joseph Smith was arrogantly positioning himself to be "President", only 150 years ago or so...

Russell and Rutherford, for all their arrogance, never attempted to become President of the United States, as Joseph Smith did. The methods Smith used were underhanded and cultish, too...

And the Mormon church's emphasis on college degrees - for males, at least - means that the Mormon church has a LOT more money to throw around, than the Watchtower Society with its net worth of 3 billion dollars, does....

    That scares me...

    Z:

I was just getting old enough to start listening to what was being said about politics in 1960. What you said may be true, but it didn't make any difference at the time. People were talking about him installing a second hot line, this one connected to the vatican.
