Hi, and welcome!
I typed a reply a while ago, and it disappeared and kicked me right off the site! must be the demonz
Atheist here! Briefly, I left at 18 (born-in) due to hypocrisy and those book-study prophecies 'explained' *ahahahaha! I call it gobbledeegook*, looked at other religions and realized they all had common themes. That led me to see that g*ds were creations of men, tailor-made to suit their purposes.
Science makes a lot more sense. I am a skeptic, and enjoy reading about the new theories in physics that offer a bit of insight into what's out there (string theory, holographic universe, that kinda stuff).
There's lots of lively discussions between the theists/agnostics/atheists here. Stick around and enjoy!

Hi Itsallwrong (great screen name) welcome to this happy if eclectic band of nutters !
You will find that the majority on here are not believers in any conventional sense, though the odd one or two are, church going and such.
I walked away from the JW crap in early 2008, born in, and in for 58 years. When I first left I still believed in "God" though not the "Jehovah" that the WT presents.
When I first joined this forum there was a lot of talk about critical thinking skills being important in gaining a correct understanding of anything, and how JW's have had their CT skills surgically removed. I made an effort to learn how to use such skills, and very soon came to the conclusion that, so as not to be fooled and controlled again in my life by scammers like the WT, or any other kind of conman, it was best if I did not "believe" in anything, belief meaning trusting something to be true without sufficient evidence.
This quickly led me to realise that there simply is no evidence for God that I will accept as satisfactory.
I don't like to label myself an Atheist to people I meet, simply because they jump to conclusions about a persons intellectual attitude based on that label, I style myself a Rational Humanist.
The Bible too. I examined, and found it not to be anything more than a rather wonderful and fairly unique collection of literature, produced by men , with no outside input.
Welcome again ! you are among many like minded people here.
Welcome itsallwrong. My impression over the years is that remarkably few who leave the Witnesses actually go to another religion or 'church'
I am happy to be labelled agnostic until I can satisfy myself that the Divine is proven scientifically and incontrovertibly, and if so proven, I'm going to decide whether I like him or not
Another atheist here with another welcome.
The trouble with labels is they don't tell the whole story . . . and they only ever describe the "now"
There are a million shades of grey behind every label . . . I think of myself as a deeply religious non-believer.
Welcome to the board . . . and I agree . . . no current man-made concept of God makes any sense to me either.
Hey, I finally researched the JW's to realize it wasn't the truth and kept researching the Bible to learn what a man-made book it is. I always had a problem with the megalomaniac that Jehovah was, so I looked into science and archeaology too.
Long story short, the gods that men have made up are no good for us. The God of the gaps is in a tiny box.
As far as "spiritual" atheism goes, I just feel that getting in touch with your inner self and meditating on things and enjoying peace and tranquility all qualify as spiritual things. It's not necessarily some mystic contact with the universe or the force or all other humans.
I believe in a sort of karma- positive people look for positive things and tend to find them. Negative people look for negative things and find them. I am fighting the negativity much of the time still. No mysticism about it.
Welcome.
Some shade or level of all the above would fit me either now or in my journey to this point. I finally started using the atheist label a couple years back after a couple years of agnostic then humanist then rationalist, etc. Still, I agree with sizemilk that labels don't fully explain the real me.
There are many good people here. Some of them are religious, some are not. But they are certainly entertaining if one wants to find that. LOL
I left in 2004 after nearly 50 years in. It took a while to find my identity, which is always morphing of course.
Peace. Namaste'

I completely agree.

Welcome!
There are plenty of atheists here, along with religious people from all faiths and walks of life.
The JWR Forum is probably more than 80% atheist.
