Hi Nancy, I tried to comment on your blog. I would recommend that you do not use the NWT for your personal study or when quoting scripture.

"taking in knowledge" does not lead to everlasting life. John 17:3 was mistranslated. Can you see the difference?

"This means eternal life, their knowing you, the only true God and the one whom you sent, Jesus Christ."

"I never knew you, you workers of lawlessness."

"and he knew her not until she gave birth to a son"-- Matthew 1:25

Knowing God is very different than taking in knowledge. The watchtower changed this scripture in order to support their works based salvation.

John 5:39“You search the Scriptures because you think they give you eternal life. But the Scriptures point to me! 40Yet you refuse to come to me to receive this life."

Yes and no. I just got to a stage where I did not care. Then I got woried about not being able to attend my childrens weddings etc. Then I got to meet some people and talk to some on here and quite frankly, I trust the people on this site more than I trust JWs at the hall - sad but true.

Yes, but more for reasons of privacy than because of possible consequences of being associated with the likes of all of you pagans. I'm pretty sure my family already pictures me with horns and a tail sprouting. Oh well. I like me.

I disagree about John 17:3. "That they may know you" is how I understand it. It takes a long time to get to know someone.

So "taking in knowledge" can apply truthfully.

But it is off topic. (I do not like the NWT, but it is familiar to me, so sometimes I use it.)

Nope...use my real name and the sam avatar for everything I do on line. The Watch Tower has made it so I have nothing to lose, as my mom as shunned me for almost a quarter of a century.

No. I wish some witnesses I know personally were on this site and that I'd know who they are so we could talk!

My fb friends from this site know who I am-although we have never met. I do not have any witness friends on FB- I can't find any I know on there!

I do not consider myself to be an "apostate' nor will I formally seperate myself from the congregation. I am 100% inactive and cannot see myself going back to the cong I was in.

Hell no... Aside from the fact that I've been out for over 25 years, I was almost totally ignored while I was IN the cult...

When I left, I didn't hear one peep out of ANYONE that I had known... I sent in my DA letter after moving to another state, if I remember correctly, which limited their efforts, too...
