The 'if we don't China will' is one of the strong arguments for going ahead. China is already invested heavily in Canada's Oil and pipeline companies.

Exactly, designs. I don't usually get into these arguments because the U.S. press is so badly mis-informed and politicized that you can't get accurate information at all. Frankly, we don't give a shit up here. If you don't want the jobs, we'll take them and ship it over to our coast. No problemo.

I watch BBC News....sometimes just to see how much the rest of the world laughs at us. Say how do monkeys stay warm north of the 38th parallel, do you have thermal monkey wear for this time of year..

The rest of the world doesn't laugh at you, and you will find no such evidence.

It's just your media is biased.

You should see CNN in Latin America. Wow, talk about a totally different version with a different spin on it all together. Propaganda. No different than Fox News.

it's ridiculous to see that humans are still spending money on old oil technology that will become obsolete eventually.

new energy technology would create more jobs and potentially save the world for the future humans living on the planet earth.

    stupid inefficient humans.

we all are one of them.

Well, until then, what are you going to do?

    Just saying.

Wait for 10-20 years and see what the next fuel will be. LGN. Trust the monkey.

You should be at one of our next meetings. Projects like these are decades in the planning and implimenting stages. Economics, Politics, the Environment, Public Will are all butting heads here.

any one ever seen the documentary called Who Killed the Electric Car?

we refuse to do something about the problem. because the problem is giving the unethical humans lots of money. and they are okay with that.

the ability for humans to live properly on this planet has always been available to us.

it is just unprofitable. and unpopularized by the unethical humans.

do the meetings do anything? or is the pipeline going ahead regardless of public opinion like always?

i bet it get's built and i bet they already are building it.

Well, you are dead wrong because they are not building it.

How do you feel about this project. Have any here been to the Tar Sands sites. How are they as an Environmental concern.

I currently work in Oil Sands operations, and have worked extensively in U.S. oil operations.

I don't see much difference in how the industry operates between Canada and the U.S. In both countries there are environmental regulations that have to be followed. My Canadian company seems to be doing a better job at this than my last U.S. company.

The mining of the oil sands isn't much different from the coal strip mining industry in the U.S. and the water usage problems associated with that industry.

There are numerous oil & gas pipelines crossing the USA. Some of these are quite old. A newer pipeline would be much safer than these older ones.

The oil sands are a good source of politically stable oil. The US needs to jump all over getting this pipeline and the jobs it will bring. Would be a shame for the US to pass this oil up for Middle East oil and then let it go to China.
