Hey palmtree- it was not meant as a condescending remark, several Canadians who post here are in the constrcution industry and maybe they are hiring like I do down here in construction, geeez!

Some Americans just will never get it. They see nothing wrong with buying oil from tankers half way around the world and watching us sell oil and ship it half way around the world so Obama can save face and not stand up to misinformed Americans.
There have been lots of silly comments in here out from left field about pipeline leaks, the 'environmental disaster' up in the oilsands by those that do nothing but judge the 'catastrophe' by pictures of tailing ponds, etc. The thread in it's entirety is pathetic just like environmental extremists are pathetic and want their electric cars yesterday. This entire situation is based on north america and the world not planning properly but that's okay - we'll blame everyone but ourselves.

Think About It
Wouldn't it be ironic if the pipeline is built west to supply the oil sands oil to the Chinese, and then if there was a clash between the US & China.....the US ask Canada to stop the oil flowing to China. I'm not saying China is the enemy, but the US is competing against China for world economic supremacy. The art of war says to cut off the enemy supply lines. How about not building the supply line to begin with? A national economy runs on oil.....it is a stupid decision to not run these pipelines into the US.
