I'm not fishing for "likes" or sympathy but I thought it would be appropriate to update this story. I got results of my latest CT scans today and all is well - my cancer is still in remission.
It's now 5 years since my initial diagnosis of bowel cancer and 3 years since I had a wedge of lung removed due to a metastatic tumour. Statistically the odds that it will return are about 70% but none of us are statistics. So far so good. I'm relatively strong and fit and able to enjoy a normal life. My opinion of the UK National Health Service is very high.
My philosophy is to try to live in the moment and appreciate all the many small joys in life. Trying to learn something new every day keeps life interesting. Life doesn't have to be eternal to be worthwhile. Next update in 12 months time.
