I'm surprised MochaLatte was allowed to remain in bethel...I doubt that would have happened in the bethel that I served....it had ,and still has ,a very cold, unloving Branch Committee...one brother was asked to leave bethel after his fiancee cancelled their wedding a few days before and went ahead to marry another brother shortly after. ..it was very sad for the already heartbroken brother. More recently,a few months ago, a missionary member of the same unloving Branch Committee , was reproved and dismissed from Bethel...usually when one is dismissed,they have to leave bethel on the same day, ...this ex BC member was given some days to pack and leave. ..his wife was given a Special Pioneer assignment in the country...so they didn't have to go back to their homecountry in disgrace.......it was still poetic justice as this brother had made life miserable for many with his endless manmade rules..... But he was given preferential treatment, other bethelites who've been dismissed have been treated very badly ,they are literally thrown out,without a cent, and their innocent mates are not treated any better. I'll not be surprised if the ex missionary,ex BC member makes his way back into special full time service.

I was a bethelite at Watchtower Farms from 1985-1990. I was gay but still a virgin. Being around 1000 young hard working studs all day kept me constantly arounsed but afraid to act on my inclinations. I remember one of my good friends there that I had a crush on would always sit on the front row at our KH when I had a talk. HE would wink at me and lick his lips when I was on stage. No one else could see him. We never talked about it after. It just left me frustrated. He's now married with kids somewhere and I'm happy with my partner of 8 years!

My girlfriend's son was kicked out of Bethel, more than a year ago for viewing porn. He is back home attending all meetings. He has tried twice, now, for reinstatement. The first time, they said in their humble opinion, he hadn't been DFed long enough. The 2nd time, he didn't have a suit, tie and Bible in hand, so they said he wasn't respectful enough. (Face palm-shaking head in wonder).

In Brooklyn at the time there were other sisters I knew there whose husbands had left them. So my experience wasn't a precedent setter. I recall wondering myself what would happen to me, but they never acted as if there was an issue with me staying.
