Outlaw,I'm wondering if this abrogation of responsibility is not the biggest news.
When did they ever care about Bibles anyway. This way the Society has far fewer legal problems.....BOTR

Once JW`s Accept this..There will be no turning back..

JW`s will continue to accept Individual Projects the WBT$ assigns them..

    And..

JW`s will be Responsible for any Illegal demands made on them by the WBT$..

If the WBT$ prints Hate Literature in Russia..

The WBT$ can argue JW`s took it upon themselves to distribute it..

JW`s get the Beatings..JW`s go to Jail..

The WBT$ is positioning themselves to do what ever they want..Where ever they want..

    With impunity..

Did I miss something? While the Bibles may be free to the public, are the JDubs/local congregations paying donating to the Watchtower for these Bibles? Wouldn't that be a great con - get the local JDubs/congregations to pay for 500+ Bibles they are to give out "for free"! Great opportunity to make a buck, dear Watchtower! Does anyone really think these "Bibles" are truly free from Bethel?

I mean, let's think back about the Hurricane Katrina/insurance scandal, parking lot scandals, assembly announcements of poor donations, recent NH congregtaion paying for a nearby KH (i.e. no loan from Crooktower), charging interest on local congregation loans, having the local congregation buy the land and then donate the entire property to Crooktower........ Watchtower is in it for the $$$$$$.

Really, the WTS "customer" is its publishers. They buy the magazines and try to get a "donation" back to pay for them. The aveage publisher easily spends more money at the counter, then they collect in field service. How does WTS get publishers to buy a "hell of a lot" of books? Announce that there is a drive to give away Bibles, and then make the members pay for the books!

One thing I skipped while reading. the comment on how excited the angels are who "are assigned to this territory." Wow. I used to be this delusional. Scary.

I agree with some who have posted on this thread. The abrogation of legal responsibility is the real big story, here.

One other thing. Prior to reading and posting this,I did think that they are distancing themselves from the door to door work.

In years past, when my service dipped even slightly, one or 2 elders would pull me aside for a talk. For a period of time, I only went out on Sundays. Again this invited counsel. "The friends need to see you on Saturday."

Nowadays, my "service" is so spotty. I rarely go out. Write in the mythical 8 hours. I am still a MS. No one talks to me about it. I wonder if the elders received instruction to back off. In this way, the work looks as "voluntary" as possible. Allowing the WT to distance itself from those who decide to make an "individual expression."

I received informaiton about this today, and my first reaction was, now we are really crazy.

It reminded me of the Donald Trump, Apprentice show. Teams set up with carts to try and compete to be the best. We all know what happens at the end of that show. Someone gets fired. It won't be the CO's that will get fired. It won't be the GB that will get fired. They just inpired the idea. If this project goes forth as a dud. It wasn't the GB's fault. But, somebody will be fired.

Did we ever establish that any of this information is true?

Sounds like an indirect admission that the preaching work had been ineffective, even right where JW HQ is located.
