None of it makes sense to me.
By definition, the Governing Body are all of the Anointed. That means they do not care about paradise earth, or care if Armageddon comes or not, since they are immortals. Yet their main doctrine is that people are supposed to live forever on earth and that earth the natural desire of man. That is quite a contradication, and brings into question their doctrine and their motives. It means they are writing about things they know nothing of.
It is unusual that someone like Geoff Jackson, born in the 1950's, choose to be one of the 144,000 in his 30/40's. That went completely against everything the Watchtower taught about who the last chosen Remnant are supposed to be. It meant him giving up any desire to live forever with his Great Crowd wife. Yet it is that sort of person that now is being chosen to lead the Organisation.
The Governing Body show great disrespect to the followers. They treat them like fools, particularly with recent statements about trusting them, since Jehovah trusts them. I think that the Governing Body feel the followers are fools and need the idea of Armageddon to keep them in line, even if they don't believe any of it personally themselves.
