Designs - The ghost of Knorr. I like it! I seem to detect nought but a business mentality at work currently so perhaps it is Knorr giving them 'new light'(TM) from beyond the gravy!

Its interesting to hear reports from those of us xJWs who have gone to a recent Assembly or KH. The Leadership are culling the herd with their messages. What kind of woman is attracted to or stays in an abusive relationship, now they have a religion of some 3 Million women with terrible self-esteem.
My daughter has a few choice words for them 'f*&k em!'.
Yes. The world to them has become Jehovah against Satan. They believe Satan will use any opportunity to slam them. They will not notice it is them who are slamming us. To discover why they can think backwards is a worthwhile endeavor. I didn't finish college or write a book so I can't do it. But somebody should because what if it's catchy?
punkofnice - Is it all a set up so that the JWs think persecution at the hands of 'apostates' is a sign that the big 'A' will be soon and thus keep them locked into the cult believeing the GB are protecting them? Are the GB printing vitriol as a plot to get a reaction that will make the JWs think they're being persecuted?
Considering that the WTBTS believes in spreading fear, follows a game plan of trying to alienating JWs from "Worldly" people, and tries to sell the WTBTS as a religion, your idea is plausible. It would not surprize me. If ex JWs adher to a philosophy of love and believing that JWs are victums of a cult, It doesn't really matter whether the WTBTS is intentionally trying to whip up a backlash of persecution on JWs or not. Times have changed so let the WTBTS follow their 1940/1950's rule books, while exJWs should become more creative to educate news organizations, politicians, and the general public about the dangers of thought reform and cults like the WTBTS and how to effectively respond to them.
Peace be with you and everyone, who you love,

ABS- It boggles the mind in this day and age of Women's Rights to have this type of example set out there before young women. Its something you'd expect out of Islam allowing their women to be beaten.
My daughter is 6'2" and took all of the self-defense classes. Gawd help some guy who would be stupid enough to take a swing at her.

Soft_gentle – I was wondering how the JWs would see the Selma (Homer’s SIL?), story. Perhaps it was sloppy writing? Then they translated it differently in at least a couple of other languages….Steve was just ‘angry’. I wonder why they did that!?!? |
Most jws have not received their copy yet so it is difficult to assess their reaction but will keep my eyes and ears open and report back.
I didn't get the Homer's SIL ref
designs - Good on your daughter! I think I look up to her.......literally!
N.Drew - the washtowel certainly promotes 'us vs: them' to further it's own corrupt ends.
ABS - Raised awareness of this cult's MO is a good thing.
soft+gentle - My guess is it'll just go under the radar of the JWs. They won't see the danger of abusive relationships being condoned but they'll be guilt tripped into - DO MORE!!
PUNK: Are the GB printing this dangerous stuff to get noticed by 'apostates' so that there is a negative reaction against the GB? Are the GB doing it to 'bait' exJWs so the GB can then cry: 'persecution'?
CEDARS: I highly doubt it personally. I think it's just evidence of the Governing Body growing increasingly out-of-touch with reality, but everyone is entitled to their opinion.
Au contraire mon ami! I think they are very much in touch with reality. They are doing it because they have come to the realization that "apostates" are the #1 threat to the R&F. Thus, the extreme warnings and the threat of expulsion if you disobey them.

A fader's mother in law attended the Oct special meetings and her mother in law told her something to the effect that they should prepare for some backlash since there will be issues some may find controversial since they will not water down the message. I didn't see that mentioned in the notes that were posted about it can someone confirm if this is true?
If it is true then to me that looks like they are baiting issues to cry persecution. They know "apostates" look thru the magazines online before most JW's do. it's an election year here in the states and with all the movements around the world and the economic situation they may be taking advantage of it to stir up some persecution to keep the rank & file busy & clinging to the org over the next year while they come up with the next idea.
