Women who have affairs...are they DUMB to think he will leave his wife?

Does anyone remember the Woody Allen film about a doctor esteemed, Martin Landau, who has an affair with Angelica Huston. She truly believed he would leave his oh so proper Jewish wife with all the social connections. She ended up dead. It was shocking. I remember many people commenting it must happen (murder) in real life.

I used to own a mobile home park 25 years ago- and I lived in it, so it was common knowledge that I was married and they saw my wife- even handed her the rent money. I still had women want to offer me benefits. Maybe it was a power thing- trying to convince themselves that they are more desirable than your wife. I never accepted - even from the 29 year old lady who showed me her pictures from the nudist resort and offered to model au natural for me.

If a woman runs off with your husband the best revenge is letting her keep him.

This thread reminds me of a Rodney Dangerfield joke about bars: "Young women looking for a husband and husbands looking for young women".

See, I'm feelin' you, here, dear Rob (the greatest of love and peace to you!). I mean, why in the WORLD would I want him back?? Goodness, he would have to have THE best "excuse" in the WORLD as to why he had an affair ("Remember, hon, when I fell down that 10 flights of stairs at work and had that ugly bump? Well, apparently, I developed a concussional aneurysm that belatedly burst right when this woman walked by me at the bar... and so apparently I developed amnesia and forgot who I was! SHE said she was my wife... and since I couldn't remember... I went to a hotel with her! Huh, wha... why was I at the bar? Well, SHE said it was our anniversary and we had made plans to meet there but that we didn't have a lot of money so we could only afford drinks and a room - dinner and gifts were out of the question!").

I can forgive him, sure. No, really: no bad feelings, no grudge. Wouldn't want a thing [bad] to happen to him at all. Would only wish the best for him. BUT... he would have to stay away from ME. You know: "Poof! Be gone from me, toad!" 'Cause I just couldn't worry about it. Let her.

Yep, I'm with you on this one, dear one.

    Peace!

Yep, I'm with you on that one too.

Same with fighting another woman over a man. Really? You can stay with me or leave... your choice. But if you don't want to stay with me, then I don't want you to stay with me either. I'll be alone or find someone who DOES want to stay with me.

Like Shelby, I can also forgive... with no hard feelings, and not a single ill wish. Depending on the circumstances (and remorse) I could even take him back. Once. Not that I would ever admit to that, because drunken moments can be moments of weakness, and add to that the knowledge in the back of your head that your wife will forgive and take you back at least once... and that is just playing with fire.

But if its just that you want to screw around (have your cake and eat it too) and you don't care about promises or hurting me... then no one's stopping you from doing what you want to do. It'll be your loss.

    Peace,

    Tammy

My husband and I have a friend who's going through the exact situation with his wife. It's her loss.

NEVER understood that one, dear tec (peace, chile!)... even as a girl/young woman! Makes me absolutely SHUDDER when I hear/see women fighting over a man. I want to grab 'em both and go, "He's all THAT, girl? Really? Denzel ain't even all that!" One of the most women-degrading things I can imagine, fighting over a man. Let... her... have... his... butt!

Shoo-ooot... he mus' not know 'bout me...

    Oh, and peace...

SA, who really has an aversion to women fighting over men... and even more for the men who 'cause/let them... on her own...

Yep have to agree, why would I want a man that didn't value me enough to be faithful! Although before he left for good, there would be a tete a tete with his testicles and a cheese grater.

I also never understood fighting over a man... Have some pride woman! Get yourself a man who is fighting over YOU!

    Peace
