In the 60s when they had the Big Conventions and the Big Kitchen Tents it was a blast, us teenagers got to work in Expediting which meant we cruised around for 3-7 days, it was all play all the time and at nights we'd hit the party scene. The Music Died after the Peace On Earth Assemblies. Everything changed in the 70s with the big exodus after 1975 and of course Ray Franz leaving in 79/80 was the big expose'.

For a while, I used to be able to weasel my way out of having my arse glued to the seats by volunteering for the kitchen etc..

That got canned after I got out, but that's not enough for me to give them a +

After a woman is batered and the man brings her presents and "makes nice", there is a "honeymoon period". For the WT$ it was the Knorr years. While I have good memories of good times with good people during those years, we can never forget the Kool-aid we drank at the time. Innocent children died because of the blood doctrine, families were torn apart due to disfelloshipping, people postponed marriage, having children, education, providing for retirement, owning a home. Teachings that went "beyond what is written" have proven to be a "curse" .

The religion has changed less than many think.

I was the frog in the pot of slowly boiling water brought up in this relgion. Thankfully, I wasn't even born when they marched around with sandwich signs and put their foot in the householder's door. OR when they had week-long assemblies!

It would have looked so nice with a number at each end. I can't imagine what went wrong. HHCIB?

As a born-in in the 80's, I didn't see any difference between the "snake pit" then and the "snake pit" now. Maybe they have different kinds of snakes, but they're still snakes nonetheless.

Flip-flops in doctrine have always been there, right from the beginning. Needless deaths have been there right from the beginning. Corruption, hunger for power, pulling the wool over the sheeps' eyes, etc. It's all been there in one form or another.

It seemed good when I grew up during the 50's and 60's but I was being abused then , so , no I can't ever recall a time when children, women and the weak weren't getting kicked around. the reason it seems good is b/c no one knew what was going on behind the scene. now we do.

I understand what you are saying. Born in grew up in the 70's and even tho it always had High control group tactics, due the the end time they pointed to that made a difference.

Yeah yeah I know they have always date fixed but when you are in the middle (or better yet the end) of said dates it seemed easier to accept some of the bullshit. But once that date comes and goes (and than the alternative date also) IMO your eyes should than be forced to examine.
