very possible WTW.

"mental or emotional problems" doesn't just describe the partakers. Most of the new recruits they are dunking are oddballs. WT publications are getting extra dumbed down in order for anybody to 'underline' the 'answer'.

More than seven million members, fewer than 12,000 with Christ as their Mediator.

"Six Convincing Lines of Evidence" that we are in the Last Days. Sixth, the number of genuine anointed disciples of Christ is dwindling, though some will evidently still be on earth when the great tribulation begins. . Most of the remnant are quite elderly, and over the years the number of those who are truly anointed has been getting smaller." Watchtower 2000 Jan 15 p.13

wha happened?
12 years and counting Blondie.
Now keep in mind that there is a major recession in most of the world, so field service hours are likely up due to unemployment. Also that little bit of fear in the back of people's minds when a downturn occurs so off in service they go. After 911, all Churches reported an increase so it's just human nature

It's interesting to examine that 1st graph, % increase in publishers. It's easy to see the influence of world events on JW numbers.
Late 1990's / early 2000s: Internet access explodes. JW growth rate falls by more than 50% from just a few years earlier.
2002: Immediate aftermath of the 9/11 attacks. JWs numbers spike a bit as "inactive" JWs trickle back in, fearing an imminent Armageddon
2003-2006: Armageddon fears subside, growth rate drops again
2009: Aftermath of near global economic collapse: Growth rate spikes up a bit as inactive JWs trickle back in again, fearing Armageddon
2010: Economy stabilizes, but does not recover: growth rate slows but is still higher than 10 years previous.
Funny how "Jehovah's spirit" works in tandem with "Satan's wicked world".

An ex-bethelite told me that the GB recon there are only about 2000 genuine anointed left on earth, the rest are imposters. That article seems to support that assertion.

wha happened?
imposters? That's a strong word.
"One who engages in deception under an assumed name or identity."
So that older sister in her 90's is actively working this con? Wow I wonder what the take is
