Only JWs Can Understand The Bible

BOTR: If Witnesses ever encountered a level playing field when knocking on doors--householders prepared, Bibles in hand, refusal to be polite and not be rude--there would be no converts. The whole encounter is a dance of legitimacy, not having anything to do with the Bible.

Wow, that is EXACTLY the point I was trying to make on this thread I started earlier today:

The Trinity Doctrine, the Governing Body & Disfellowshipping

Would you mind taking a look at that and weighing on that subject as well? Thanks,

    00DAD . . . great comparison.

Two totally incompatible statements . . . each one to achieve a different purpose.

Another stark example of WTS duplicity . . . half the time they're not even reading their own bullshit.

Only they can understand deep meaning? Where else? Just look at commentaries, some as old as 1600. Most of the deep meaning of Matthew Henry blows away the current understandings and thought of the current WT scholars. Dunlap, Ray Franz and other old school scholars were pushed out and now lawyers and cut / paste writers have taken over.

The GB should be GLAD most JWs don't read the rags too carefully, those that do sit up and go, "WTF! I'm outta here!"

Isn't it actually WTS teaching that JWs CAN'T understand the Bible?

That's why they need the Watchtower publications.

    That was Russell's view.

He wrote that if you read his Studies in the Scriptures, you would have the light of the scriptures, but if you read the Bible alone you would go into darkness within two years.

    Humble fellow, huh?

"Isn't it actually WTS teaching that JWs CAN'T understand the Bible?"

Correct, individually. Only the Faithful & Discreet Slave can interpret the Bible. Individual JWs are powerless to understand anything apart from official dogma.

    wha happened?

with all the changes with the generations, it seems that it's the WTS teachings that leave JW's confused

LWT: Only the Faithful & Discreet Slave can interpret the Bible.

But they don't exist; or if they do even the GB admits they have no idea who the individuals are all around the earth that supposedly comprise this "composite body of anointed ones." And they dismiss them by publicly accusing many of them of being "emotionally and/or mentally imbalanced"! The anointed are talking to the self-appointed Guys from Brooklyn and the GB aren't listening!!!

It's really such a silly mess! If it didn't seriously mess up the lives of so many people it'd just be a huge joke!

"It's really such a silly mess!"

Yes, this is exactly the point of this thread, as mentioned in my opening. It's all so ridiculous to us . . . now

LWT, don't worry I got you!

It's strange, after believing it for so long I find I can hardly stop thinking about all the inconsistencies, deceptions, misrepresentations, frauds, incoherent doctrines and just plain old lies!

    Did I miss anything?
