ahhhh..... I think that some of the new shows like "Eureka", "Warehouse 13", and "Terra Nova" are pretty good sci-fi shows...
Then there was "Farscape"... [sheds several tears in memory of that great show...]
I've heard that "Serenity" is every bit as goog as the old "Farscape" - I just can't bring myself to watch it, yet....
[waves 'hi' to talesin and sends her a PM...]

I really loved TNG the most. It's still my favorite series of all time.
IF you liked the kookiness of it and the upbeat message, try the new BBC Doctor Who series. They are occasionally dark, coughcreepyangelscough , but mostly they are upbeat, funny and of course kooky. Plus if you used to watch doctor who, then you can kind of get the nostalgia from it like you would get from star trek.
If you want a show that just makes you feel really GOOD then watch My Little Pony Friendship is Magic. (It's gotta be the friendship is magic version, all the previous ones sucked horribly as I'm sure you can imagine.) The characters are so heartwarming and cute, plus they have the care and trust for each other which is missing from most shows. Watch an episode before you go to bed and you'll definately have a warm fuzzy feeling.

Serenity isn't a Farscape movie
I've only watched a couple of Terra Nova (Aus TV can't make up their mind when they have it on..dumb bastards) so i have not decided but siding on mediocre at this stage

Star Trek was an excellent illlustration of the kind of society we should have after the collapse of dumbocracy....
http://armageddonconspiracy.co.uk/The-Illuminati-Network%281564027%29.htm
The Rosicrucian Order gradually became detached from the Illuminati and fell under the influence of others. It continues to this day - see http://www.amorc.org.uk. Note that although the Rosicrucians are no longer connected with the Illuminati, many of the Illuminati's original teachings are still evident in modern Rosicrucian thinking. Gene Roddenberry, the creator of Star Trek was a member of AMORC. Star Trek represents a very powerful image of what our society would look like if we could rid ourselves of the Old World Order. Star Trek promotes a meritocratic, noble, honest, truthful, unselfish, ambitious, intelligent, adventurous vision of humanity, free of greed and religious dogmatism. Who is preventing us from realising this futuristic paradise? - the Old World Order.

gosh, darnit,,, captain,,, why would you say that? the dililithium crystals are breaking up!!!
whenever i see your icon it reminds me of what a let down this jw organization really is
the reason they called me that is BOTH,,, lol!!! I am pretty darn smart,,, and yes, I used to be stoic. Since healing from the WT abuse, though, I now feel emotion!!! YAY!
I am a bit sad that Wonder Woman makes you feel a 'let-down' ---- why would you associate her with the WT?

"Serenity isn't a Farscape movie..." Finally Some Pride
No, I know that; I just couldn't remember the series which it is an extension of...
Someone else mentioned it; it's "Firefly" - from the few snatches of the show that I've seen, it is VERY reminiscent of "Farscape"...
