This version of If I Were A Carpenter by Ramblin' Jack Elliot is earthy, souLful and moving. Keep listening, it's the chorus that's so earthy. Then there is the one by the man who wrote the song in the first place: Time Hardin singing this in his rare and beautiful voice at Woodstock 1969, @ night.

Carl and Dennis Wilson of the Beach Boys, share the lead vocals. This is the kind of music and sound you'd hear in some other world or astral plane. It's so haunting and lovely. We didn't get to hear enough of Dennis. I might never had heard this amazing song if You Tube hadn't been invented.
If you're a Beach Boys fan or if you aren't, give this ethereal gem a listen.
