" ...It seems that the three who perished have a lesson for us all in the event of calamity. When the brothers in that vicinity were advised to head to high ground it seems that the unfortunate three delayed their departure. Then when they did attempt to leave their dwelling they were unable to escape because the weight of water and mud prevented them from opening the doors. ..."
And the translation of that Watchtower-speak is:
"These brothers refused to listen to HIGHER AUTHORITY and they DIED!!! So you thick-headed, stubborn, lazy Jehovah's Witnesses had better take that lesson to heart - when the Governing Body says "Jump!", you'd better ask, "How high?" if you want to save your worthless hides from the upcoming, just-around-the-corner, too-close-to-buy-green-bananas "great day of Gawd the Almighty"....!!"
It's amazing that the primitive mentality preserved in the 'amber' of biblical scriptures is still around - "Something BAD happened to them - OOOOOO!!! THEY must have committed some SIN - otherwise, why did 'gawd' punish them???"
I suspect that "Sodom & Gomorrah" were probably ordinary, everyday villages filled with hard-working, moral people - but after they were suddenly destroyed, the locals had to come up with SOME explanation as to why they died.... "OOOOOOO!!! 'gawd' destroyed them - they must have done something WRONG!!!"
Same damn mentality that the Witnesses have today....
