If they are the spirit directed organization of God why do they refer to other sources to prove their views? We know they have used many references out of context but even the ones they don't why do they name drop scholars or refer to encyclopedias if they have the truth and the sources they refer to are of the condemned world? I feel so stupid for not thinking about that before.

I made my sister read the parable of the faithful and discreet slave ten times the other day until it clicked with her that it was just an illustration and never once in the verse was "miserable old bastards" or "from a factory in New York" mentioned.
She just kept asking me "how did you do that?" and "how did you see through it?" ...... Just had to read the verses! The power of the brain washing was very visceral for us both, when I asked what the verses were describing she kept repeating "the governing body" .... I kept saying where and how do you come to that conclusion? Read it again! Then eventually she said...." Oh it's just an illustration about being ready..." just like the many parables preceding that verse! (which we read first).
I used to believe the WT society did all this mental gameplay subconsciously, but now I have no doubt that all this brainwashing, unscriptural doctrination and twisting of truths is with full intent. Hypocrisy.... Yes indeed poopsiecakes!

Poop, once I was one a bus in San Fran, a youth I was. Anyway, I had listened to the kids of color talk smack about the white kids who had boarded for some time. Then a Rabbi got on. I mean full on extreme robes etc. He got off shortly. The two groups joined and tore up the old Rabbi. I realized then that one of the greatest ways to bring people together was to give them a common "enemy". The JW's love to feel superior.

Ain't that the truth...it's kind of what it's all about. How else can it all work? I mean, you have the constant drilling into the poor brains of the adherents that the 'world's' education is inferior to anything they learn at the KH and manage to create a group of people who feel like they're better than anyone else by sheer virtue of having read every Awake article they can get their hands on. Sad really.
