FLICKA- Welcome to the board my friend. You are among people who understand what you are going through- believe me. I was bor-in and raised in the Witnesses from birth as well, also have lots of JW relatives still in too. Pull up a chair, make yourself at home , and keep reading and researching for yourself. In time it will bcome clear how to deal with your JW family. But for now , I wouldn't alarm them or talk negatively about the JW organization or your doubts as they may try to shun you or cut you off. For the time being keep you & your husbands counsel to yourself and be smart. Keep your chin up and welcome to freedom of mind and clear thinking ! Peace out, Mr. Flipper

Although it all sounds pretty simple it's not like you all know. I grew up being a JW and my whole family are still in. They are not very open minded and I'm not sure how to tell them I no longer believe the organization is Jehovahs' spirit anointed organization but I guess we all learn how to deal with it over time.
You don't owe anyone an explanation about anything. If pressured about why you're not participating in the dog and pony show anymore just say that you're working on some things right now and they're personal.

We have all lost a lot and left much behind. While you will soon get a cold shoulder from people that are supposedy endowed with love, here they will comfort you with open arms.I speak from experience. Is this a trap of satan? No its the same reason we have welfare, healthcare and charities (legitimate), humans are bloody nice people. Leaving the WT society is quite a life experience and therefore we have a unique bond. Either way, welcome to the trampoline, the burning building was no place to be as you will find out.
Here is the reality of your situation..... what is more important - feeling comforted or knowing the truth?
One can close their eyes to the unpleasant facts of the JW's that make evident its false status, and consequences we all know well. Or one can say good bye and wait on the sidelines for the ones you love. The good news is that life on the sidelines is a hell of a lot better. It takes a few years, but I guarantee you with all my heart, wild stallions wont get you back into that bizzare life in a couple of years. Think of it this way, all religions cant be right, some have millions and millions of worshipers. If you want to believe in a god, some of these people must be totally misguided if not brain washed, yet worship faithfully, some to the point of giving there life..... being a JW is exactly this. After a few years of leaving the blurred vision dissipates and you can see what you could not see before. I keep having embarassing moments when a memory/decision i once made/belief i used to have.. pops into my head and I slap my head in despair... "How did I fall for that!" or " How could I think that was a right thing to do!"
But this takes time.
You will have difficult moments of missing family and friends, but you realise that love based on the condition you have a mutual word view, isnt love... The ones that really love you, will do so whether you are a jedi or a sith x (remember luke n darth!)
Take care and know that you are on the right path now. Say goodbye to all that guilt and slavery. Its just a book company...

P.s. I have spent 5 years slowly informing my loved ones of the truth. It wont take much now, they have a HUGE lack of confidence in the society nowadays. The WT society does not have the hold on its free workforce as it used to have. Especially on people that have served 20, 30 40+ years, they have seen too much and seen too many things that dont add up.. poor appointment decisions, poor df decisions, changes in thoughts, unexplained new teachings, the society has gone from hardcore to compromise with a heap of conservatism e.g. blood. This just grows distrust. So dont worry, your loved ones are not a total loss. Set the example by being prepared to answer question they have for you.

We already downloaded Crisis of Conscience and started reading it. Jwfacts has been a tremendous help in our research especially when looking at the generation changes and finding the correct WT articles on the WT library.
