I don't know. I do like the idea but I am honestly not sure whether it might actually do more harm that good - create a bunker mentality rather than get Witnesses to think.

On balance I don't care actually, the sneaky side of me would just love to send that "generation" postcard to a few people I know.

If this idea takes off I think I might avail myself of the "provision" as it were.

But a final thought - is it legal to send people anonymous mail?

I like the generation card! What about a card that has all of the different definitions of "generation" through the years - with WT/Awake sources? The title could be Definition: "generation"

Thanks nicolaou, I assumed you weren't having a dig, but I thought I'd better clarify! You never know...

slimboyfat - surely it's legal so long as the card contains no messages that can be considered abusive in any way? It's a good point though.

Cedars, I haven't forgotten about you, by the way. I will try to be in touch this week.

Life has been crazy the past couple months!

I am not sure I think anonymous messages like these could be considered harassment.

But I love the idea. Imagine apostates sending these to people they know in congregations all over the country. Everyone would fall under suspicion from the Watchtower leadership. I would be curious just to see how they would deal with it.

Mad Sweeney - don't you worry about me, I know what it's like when everything gets too much and you need to take time out. I'm not going anywhere, so whenever you're ready just drop me a line.

slimboyfat - you're right, the potential is huge. I think if the postcards are elegantly done and well worded, as nicolaou is suggesting, they could be a real thorn in the side of the Society. It would certainly put the boot on the other foot.

It would sure give the dubs something to talk about. Surveying who is and isn't receiving the postcards. Imagine the speculation and possible witchhunt for the postcard-sending apostate.

If enough of these were sent and paranoia ensued, eventually, those who did NOT get the post cards would become suspect of SENDING them. LMAO.

Absolutely. For those of us whose family already know where we stand, I guess there's not much point but I would love to see the official reaction from the borg.

Hi nicolaou. You might want to test market your idea with JWs who you know and write about your results. You might want to also include a couple of website addresses to peak the curiousity of JWs. Otherwise, I think that the idea has merit.

Peace be with you and everyone, who you love,

    Robert
