    EP,

Everything is in a state of flux. Everything vibrates. Even your single dumb brain cell.

    Take color for example...

    http://www.colourtherapyhealing.com/colour/

Colour is simply light of different wavelengths and frequencies and light is just one form of energy that we can actually see that is made up from photons. We are all surrounded by electromagnetic waves of energy of which colour is just a small part. Within the Universe, positive and negative charges (waves of energy), are constantly vibrating and producing electromagnetic waves traveling at an incredibly high speed.(186,000 miles per second, the speed of light.)

Oh truthseeker. You are calling name. Jesus is so sad now. I have at least a few hundred million brain cells. You clearly also need to take a biology class. Oh, and that link was stupid. Without saying it, it is suggesting that all forms of eneergy are made of photons. The last part about posotive and negative charges vibrating and producting waves was equally silly as the first part.

    Fundies are dumb.

    EP,

I gave the link as an example of one form of energy.

I gave the link as an example of one form of energy.

But you haven't proven anything relevant to the flood. Your argument, essentially, is: "matter and energy are related, therefore God (whose existence is unproven) did a magic thing." This is a non sequitur.

And the link you gave was wrong. Bullshit wrong.

If the bible flood happened, it didnt just kill man and animals, it changed the atmosphere of the earth.

Man no longer lived 8-9 hundred years old, they lived around 100.

The canopy was gone the earth was bombarded with the suns rays and the atmospheric pressure changed.

It would seem God would wanted more life and souls to be born in a shorter time.

Why can one readily believe that an earth made of rock and its inhabitiants couldn't have gotten here without an actual creator while simultaneously believing that God has always existed....had no beginning, will have no end; especially when this belief is based on a book that is supposedly inspired by him yet is woefully unclear and even contradictory in so many ways?

It's obvious that the flood DID occur and it wiped out the first page of this thread. Seriously though, great thread. It's interesting to me that when I read my kids a Bhiddist story with all sorts of fantastical events they know it's JUST a story to help teach a lesson. Why can't we read the Bible as we read every other book, and then based on merit decide whether the stories in it are fictional or real?

    Jaguarbass,

I agree that the atmosphere would have changed.

Genesis 1:7 "So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse from the water above the expanse. And it was so."

The sky is the expanse. The separation was the canopy of water above the expanse.

The water under the expanse was that which came from springs that watered the earth in the form of a mist. The canopy acted as a barrier that held in the heat from the sun so that the earth was like a warm hot-house around the entire planet. It also kept out harmful radiation from the sun.

To recannopy the planet with a swaddling band of vaporous water, the ice must be melted. When the ice at the poles melt, the atmosphere will become heavier with evaporated waters, uplifted as water vapor. The earth will interact with volcanic activity to begin the process of creating the canopy to trap the moisture in the upper atmosphere. This is why no worldwide flood can ever occur again even though the polar ice caps will all become extinct.

By using mankind's own misuse of this planet, God brings his will into harmony. This planet was flooded long ago and the excess waters were frozen until such time in the future when those reserves would melt and be released into the atmosphere.
