Nancy has joined in the spirit of the thread by demonstrating for all of us a very CLEAR example of the sort of "paranoia/persecution complex" mentality of the typical Jehovah's Witn - er, Governing Body member...

Or perhaps she is demonstrating for us, the Watchtower Corporation's Writing Department feelings of "persecution" due to intra-office politics...

JWs are not unique in the need to feel persecution. How many times have christian groups in the U.S. tried to call themselves an 'oppressed minority'? What about all the wailing and gnashing of teeth over the 'War on Christmas' by those awful secularists? Just a couple of readily available examples.

Christianity, in many of its delicious flavors, comes with a built-in need for persecution in order to be validated:

Matt. 5:10

John 15:18-20

2 Tim. 3:12

...and many others.
