    slimboyfat - this gets more and more interesting. Varying degrees of discrimination from one congregation to the next? I didn't see that coming. Country-to-country maybe, but I have no idea why the criteria should be applied regionally within a country. Unless the letter has very quickly been edited after a quick consultation with Watchtower's legal team (perhaps prompted by this thread)?

    Mad Sweeney - well observed. If you're a couple of gay financially solvent Ministerial Servants having a sordid affair, this could be the trip of a lifetime!

    But if it was changed by lawyers, why leave the comment about not allowing wheelchairs and why remove the comment about obesity? I don't know, but I would have thought that having to use a wheelchair is classed as a disability whereas being overweight is not. In that case they have changed the wrong things.

    slimboyfat - the day I understand the mind of a lawyer.... I have no idea! The whole thing baffles me. It's a real shame we can't get our hands on a complete and unabridged copy of the letter, or maybe two letters from different congregations by way of comparison? This is starting to give me a headache!

    Thanks Mad Sweeney and Cedars - I needed a good laugh today

    I have an update on this convention.

    I have it on good authority that the Governing Body representative has been named as Anthony Morris (AKA, Anthony Morris "the Third"!), who will be attending this event.

    I am led to believe that Anthony will be accompanied by another headquarters representative by the name of Kenneth Flodin. Does anybody know him?

    So, all those "privileged ones" who have forked out exhorbitant travel expenses to attend this event now know who they are going to such great lengths to be in the company of...

    Anthony Morris

    "The branch offices involved will not be making arrangements for two single delegates to share a room";

    is this just in case they turn out to be a couple of gays 'going for it' when the maid walks in? Im sure its already happened in beth hell and they had to be ready for that one.

    This ridiculous letter would be backed up by that scripture in Lev 21:17-21. No one with a defect (lame, hunchback, broken bones, too thin, broken testicles... lol. etc) could profane Jahs sanctuary.

    crap, crap, crappity CRAP!

    And just who is this Anthony Morris and what distinguishes him from any other mannequin draped in a expensive suit, tie and fancy shoes? What qualifies him as a visionary spiritual leader? There's a pervasive odor emanating from this stinking pile of crap

    2 years ago, I was at a pointless 2-hour meeting in a Coliseum where Anthony Morris III was the main speaker. There was much expectation that a very important annoucement was going to be made. But after it was all over, everyone was left scratching their heads and asking "wtf was that all about?"...

    Anyways... I'll cut to the strangest part of his "talk"... Towards the end of his talk, he was discussing the world-wide preaching work when suddenly he requested a show of hands of all those who enjoy getting up Saturday mornings to go to Field Service. I was amazed that less than half of the 3,800 or so in attendance raised their hands.

    Oddly, his response to the audience's "weak" reaction was something like: " Well that's a lot more than I expected. I surely don't enjoy it, especially when you can barely find interested people in the territory. But it's something we all have to do because of Jesus' command in Matthew 24:14." ... or words along those lines. I remember the shocked look of an elder that was sitting in front of me... it was classic! Morris hates Field Service and he publicly admits it!!! this guy is incredibly stupid...
