Aussie makes a great point, why should this JW expect you to put your life, and worse, the lives of your lovely children, at risk, on the basis of crap "evidence" ?

Here's an even better sticking point. Christianity is supposed to be based on the ransom sacrifice of Jesus. If you know any scriptures that prove that this sacrifice is perfect, complete, and that nothing ever need be added, bring it up along with Ephesians 2:8-9. Grace, not works, is supposed to make this work--and when works are required or additional sacrifice is needed (as in your time), it betrays lack of faith that such sacrifice is indeed sufficient. Sure, they will dance around it by saying that you are volitionally doing service. However, every time they mention "self sacrifice", you mention "But I thought Christianity is based on a sacrifice (Jesus' death) that was supposed to be perfect, complete, to which nothing ever need be added. By expecting me to self-sacrifice, you are in fact asking me to add to such sacrifice and thereby desecrating the ransom."

Unless they can prove that they are not imposing additional sacrifice without contradicting themselves or changing the meanings of words, they are in fact desecrating Jesus' sacrifice according to the very core doctrine of Christianity. And as such, they are every bit as false as the Catholics that crusaded into Africa and Asia to force people into their religion.

I only had a few meetings with jw's, never went to a kh meeting. The day you bring out or show any 'apostate' literature (C of C, etc...) you WILL be marked. In my case I did not want any contact with them at all and didn't want my kids near them either. I guess bringing nearly all of my apostate literature to the kh pretty much sealed my marking!

As far as Matthew 24:14 & 28:19, 20 I get more baptists knocking on my door than I do Jehovah's Witnesses.

AT least at one point in time, they liked to claim that there had always been a "presence" on earth of God' True Followers. In fact, I think Barbara Anderson says in her story that she spent considerable time researching this in her years working at Brooklyn HQ, but it simply CANNOT be proven true. BUT........if that is said to you again, you might ask then WHY DID RUSSELL HAVE TO START A NEW RELIGION? Why didn't he just join the group in existence at that time that was already doing the Kingdom Preaching?
