Where there is great amount of power and money, men will vehemently make the effort to hang on to those desired elements.

No Room For George
The biggest problem with their business model is that the product has an expiration date that precedes the shipping date ;-P
Classic!

There are plenty of rf males that could be used for MS and Elders. Not that have the capability to serve in such positions. The morons of the GB will downgrade the standards and assign even mentally retarded ones if there is a need. It has worked till now it will continue to work. Just visit an isolated tiny congo and see the 1 or 2 males serving there: Instead of giving talks they read the outlines word by word and ask the sisters to read the verses. Since they are incapable of more do not get surprised if in a few years the public talks will not be from an outline but from a written manuscript. Also the role of COs will be enhanced and that of town overseers. A couple of overseers with appropriate qualifications could be in charge of the bodies of elders of let us say 4 or 5 congos.
Don't forget: The low hours requirement for pioneering works!

BOC: imagine knocking on a door in 2015 and telling the householder you have GOOD NEWS! That Christ has been ruling in heaven for over ONE HUNDRED YEARS! Wow, that is some great news. . .
Good point, I remember when I got baptized in 1984 I thought, "Wow, I just barely made it in time! Imagine, we're 70 years into The Time of The End. Jehovah must love me to let me in at the last minute!!!"
I felt very lucky indeed ... then years went by, then decades, then I started doing some internet research and ... well the rest is as they say, history.
I wish I'd discovered more about the history of JWs BEFORE I signed up for all that nonsense. When I found out Russell really said 1914 was the End of the End and not the Beginning of the End I just about went ballistic!
They're such liars!

hey stuck, good post. I was just thinking about this myself. Also, what doctrinal changes will they make in that time? Will the blood issue ever become a conscience matter like organ transplants (cannibalism) did? Will all witnesses partake at the memorial? One can only imagine.

When the baby boomers (born 1946-1964) are all in retirement and heading into nursing homes, which oddly enough happens to occur right in the leadup to 2034, it will be the end of a JW era. I'm sure the organization will go on, but it will change. They way I reckon it, there have been four major generations of JW's.
1. The ones from "the lost generation" that saw the pre-Rutheford days, and were old and dying during the institution of "organization". 2. Those of "the greatest generation", born during the great depression, seeing WWII, and reaching retirement during the 1975 debacle into the 1980's reorganization of the organization. 3. The "baby boomers", who lived their most productive years during the 1970-1995 glory days of end time prophecy are starting to retire now. So I think we're due for the next big organizational shift in the next 10-20 years, regardless of outside influences such as the internet. I'm not sure what to call the 4th generation, but I think they will get left holding the bag, only to find it's empty. The prophets of gen 2 are long gone, and nobody has lifted up the flag to take their place.

"The Empty Bag Holding Generation" seems fitting

The Borg in 20 years will probably be Leaner and Meaner with more of a core group of followers (basically the biggest suckers ever) in the western countries but will continue to expand in develping countries. I will GAURANTEE that you will start to see more and more ethnic people at the top Level's and even in the governing body. the GB will possibly be composed of an asian, a latino or 2 for sure, an African American (Theres already an African American which wouldv'e kicked the bucket by then so he'll be replaced). Yes, they will have to shift their marketing model with the growth of developing coutries and the demise of the western markets. Unfortunately, the WT will be around for a long time....

As long as they still have real estate to profit from, they will still be in business. They are definitely losing money right now. No way their donations cover all of the literatrash that goes out.

What about the investing in Hedge funds, does this not show that they are taking more risk with what used to be our money?
I was told that the reason for the closings of some of the branches in other parts of the world was due to this new "cloud computing" that would make the branches obsolete.
I now think that it might be to cut expenses in countries where it cost more to run than it brings in.
