To me that question is too simplistic. It presumes creation is necessary for being when that may or may not be the case.

The notion of “creation” or need of being “created” is a product of our universe. Because aside from our universe it is unknown whether creation is a necessity for being then we have no basis to accept or reject a notion that a being that allegedly transcends our universe would require creation.

That’s what folks spend their time debating.

My point is that if, as creationists posit, God transcends our universe then the whole question of whether God was created is meaningless because we have no knowledge whatsoever about rules of being governing alternate/transcending universes as though God would need to be created.

How about this:

A big vacuum sucking on nothing and our universe came out along with an infinite amount of brother and sister universes? Maybe String theory can explain it and there are an infinite number of parallel universe with people like us talking about the very same thing using our very same words.

The God of the Bible and every other god out there are entirely creations of ancient humans needing to somehow explain events and phenomena in their everyday lives that they did not have the capacity, experience, and knowledge to reasonably explain to themselves. They needed genies to explain the Sun, the stars, weather, life itself. "How did it get here?" "Must be a magical genie of some sort".

The part I can't swallow is why nearly all of these various gods are purported to be the embodiment of love, yet nearly all of them are hateful, vengeful, jealous, smiting murderers.

I confess it was me. I did it in one of my past lives it was a long time ago, I was living in a cave and I was known as oogly-ook. I made God up and it just took off from there.

Oh and I also created music and in that life I was known as oogly toot. Any way I was sitting in my cave eating some kind of gaseous plant and when I stood a strange group of noises came out of my ass. I christened it the first song.

I created some other things also in my past lives like beer (that's when I lived in Egypt)

Sorry for all the trouble I caused, I never thought the concept would take off like it did. It sure screwed things up I guess; because I'm thining if I hadn't created God then we wouldn't have Jesus, Satan, demons angels all that other colateral creation that happened.

But I am glad I created music and beer. By the way, don't they go good together?
