Pioneers Bearing No Fruit

I pioneered for few years - 18 months living in the countryside. When doing a rural/farm area, there'd often be 4 of us in one car. We'd start counting our time in town by knocking on 1 door each. Whether it was answered or not, that's when time officially started for our report cards. So we might spend 8 hours driving out and around woop-woop (is that an Australianism?) Anyways, we'd be out in the sticks (another colloquial term) maybe only getting to half a dozen farm houses. And if 2 or 3 were not-at-homes, then some of us didn't speak to any householders all day. Don't forget stopping somewhere for lunch, and cups of tea and coffee from our thermoses. Then, when we got back to town, another door-knock to clock off. So how many zillions of hours reported to the WT society have been just driving around and around? So glad I never got anyone sucked in to the org. I know one exJW who converted a couple of people. She nurtured them in, and spent hundred of hours befriending and bringing them in. When she went back to try to reason with them, to leave it, they wouldn't listen. V disappointing for her.

I imagined pious-sneering to be like a fruit salad with no fruit.

I'm gobsmacked at the people still signing up to pioneer. Heard of many did this month.

It's just what they do, I guess. **sigh**

And the lingo, "gotta make my time."

I pioneered for 10 years when the requirements were 1000 hrs/year. In that decade, I had one lady that I met going door to door advance to baptism. 10,000 hours = 1 convert

How I wish I could have those 10,000 hours back!

The WTS 'claims' Reg. Pios. from 2006-2011, increased 42.6%. Quite high. (While their 'claim' of increased pubs during same time was 13.7%) I wonder why??

My mother has pioneered for a few years now... She's had ONE person brought to baptism, but it kind of doesn't count because this person was associated with the org years ago. It's not like she was "fresh meat" found at the door. Years ago, my mom brought one other person to baptism, and she was DF'ed soon after...never went back.

I know of an elderette who ALWAYS has multiple studies going on, but she doesn't find these poor suckers in the door-to-door... She finds these unsuspecting twits everywhere she goes...she just doesn't SHUT UP about the JW's. But, I've seen several of the people she's brought to baptism fade and leave because once they make that step, she drops them like a hot potato and concentrates on the next notch in her belt.

The other lady is covered with tattoos

That doesn't necessarily mean that she's a bad person.

The way that was worded made it sound like you were implying that this "lady" is some sort of miscreant because she has tattoos.
