Tim Hortons is awesome! Good coffee reasonably priced. They've got some good soups and pastries too.

wha, I'm not a beer drinker.

Though if I were to have a beer, it would probably be one of the local microbrews, a best bitter.

*I think I dodged that one quite nicely.

Bottom line: We love our Timmy's coffee. I think Canadians are more dedicated to our daily cuppa java then our American cousins and if you're lucky enough to own a Tim Horton's franchise up here, you're looking at sales of well over $1,000,000/year.

I remember going over to Buffalo shopping once and we went to a Dunkin' Donuts for a coffee (as there were no Tim Horton's over there at that time). The place was filthy, the coffee tasted horrible and their donuts sucked.

wha happened said: what about that mediocre beer?

...Compared to what? That pony piss you guys call beer? Our beer rocks!

Actually, I like the Paradisio Medium brew at The Second Cup. It's even better than Timmy's. But their muffins and loafs suck....almost as bad as Dunkin' Donuts.....

It's too bad you don't feel Canada has anything you can be proud of tale...I feel just the opposite. Just the other day our laws jumped in to say that employers cannot ask you for your Facebook password...privacy laws here are much stricter..in the USA, the same bill was brought up and was soundly turned down by the GOP. It will take years to follow that through and a lot of abuse before someone finally wakes up to smell the coffee.

And no - we don't tip at Tim Hortons. It's counter service. And yes, our beer is stronger. Generally when in the US I go to Starbucks and ask them to cut the coffee in half - half of it water and the rest coffee - then it's okay to drink. I can't drink the coffee in some States and I've tried them all because I'm a coffee drinker but I tend to believe that it is more to do with the water and not the coffee itself. sammies

sammie,,, you can blame Steven Harper for that. His focus on military hardware, changing our health care to 'for-profit', and taking us back to the dark ages re criminal law, along with kow-towing to the corporations, has changed our landscape as Canadians. I don't wish to be a 'second class' American, and that is the way our country is turning.

Did you know that we, literally, have less than 10 people in the world who are now engaged in "peace-keeping" activities? The rest of our military is busy supporting US/UN invasions.

Why is Canada spending billions on military hardware? another hard question. Bill C-10, which is in the Senate as we speak, will make possession of marijuana a felony, instead of a misdemeanour. As we've seen from the US experience, this does not work, and only serves to grow and support the prison industry, which I hate.

I could go on and on, but oy, too tired. Hope I made my point, without sounding like a nutjob.

Ummm, I tip at Timmie's, but only if I know the employee can keep it. I don't fund charities that corporations use to make themselves look good, so the box on the counter for "Tim Horton's Kids" is NOT one that gets my 2 cents.

Mary, I'm a Mexican, so I get to rest my Laurels on beers like Pacifico, Tecate, Bohemia, etc etc. That american stuff is well, american.

Wha happened!!! Attacking Canadian beer of all things! American beer tastes like Schlitz...(pronounced without the "L"). I remember buying a 24 pack of Milwaukee's Best in Virginia Beach and I ended it giving it to my campsite neighbours after I found "imported" Molson Canadian.

As far as Tim Horton, he appeared in 6 NHL All Star games and played from 1952 to 1974...he was no mediocre player, this coming from a Montreal Canadian fan! Most of his career was spent with the Toronto Maple Leafs and at one point he played in 486 consecutive games. At the end of his career he played for Buffalo and on his way home after playing in Toronto (90 mins. away) he was killed after losing control of his De Tomaso Pantera and hitting a culvert...he wasn't wearing his seat belt.

As far as Timmies' coffee, I can't tell if it's good or bad because I don't drink coffee except for the occasional espresso...but I avoid going there especially on Saturday morning because it is the coffee break place of choice for JWs in my region...In Canada Tim Horton's killed Dunkin Donuts and Coffee Time....

  • wha happened?
    wha happened?

any beer that comes in a 24 pack is, well, likely the remnants of beer drinkers and bottled.
