    Tal,

Mind you it was in an industrial league in Montreal and Ray's brother looked like him but that's where the comparison stopped. Still, it was a 12-team league and the hockey level was quite good. Teams were sponsered by different companies so it cost me nothing to play a some of our equipment was paid for. This was a long time ago...but at 57 I still play in a team where most players are in their late 20's to mid 30's.

Wha happened: I've tried almost all Mexican beers, including the ones that you mentioned. One good Canadian beer was Bradour. It had a high, if not the highest alchohol content in it. While under that influence it made me propose to a woman who became my wife. So, it was a good discision maker, at least that is what I kept telling my wife to keep buying it.

Talesin: ahhh....come back to the love you had at first. Back to that Canadian love you once enjoyed, and was proud of. Steve will be gone soon.

That's where the Dubs would meet after service. I love the honey cruller donuts and timbits.

I first met Palmtree at a Tim Horton's. I never knew about the long lines, and was shocked to see it when I walked in. Palm already knew, and came in a little early and got in line for our coffees. I like the cultural aspect of Tim Horton's.

Tim Horton's is a force, to be sure. Some Canadians think that Tim's spikes the coffee with cocaine or perhaps nicotine. Me, I think that Tim's is a self-perpetuating popularity MACHINE - an example of the tipping point in action. A nation-wide obsession.

BTW, after years of playing hubby and I rolled up our rim and won.... a free cup of coffee!

Not so in Minnesota. There's televised hockey on all the time for teams like St. Cloud State, University of Minnesota, U of M Duluth, and North Dakota State. You hear all the time about Winnipeg fans cursing the NHL when the Jets took off for Phoenix, but there was the same outcry here when the North Stars left for Dallas. I'm glad both teams are back (well, they're the Minnesota Wild now) and hopefully they get put into the same division. It's virtually impossible to get tickets when the Jets come to St. Paul because the Winnipeg fans are making the 8 hour drive down. It's good to see some passion and civic pride.
