I'm not a massive fan of the genre, but I quite enjoyed "3:10 to Yuma" with Russell Crowe and Christian Bale.

Did you mean Pale Rider?
Almost the same Story but both Great!!!!

Nambo
"Dead Man" with Johnny Depp.
The very atmospheric music Niel Young makes this one of the most amazing films Ive seen.
Search "Dead Man" on You tube, second hit.

Yes that's the one. Water blasting the hillside. Clint as a preacher man.
Love the scene where the guy looks at him, spits, then drawls "preacher, my ass!"

One of my top ten movies, happens to be a western-
Gregory Peck, Jean Simmons, Charlton Heston,
"The Big Country" Best Picture 1959.
Directed by William Wyler, who went from this film to direct Charlton Heston in a little film called "Ben Hur"

Let's not forget "High Noon".
Chisum...that's one of my all-time favourite John Waynes, but so many. The Sons of Katie Elder was very good.
Jesse James with Tyrone Power and Henry Fonda.
Two Rode Together, with James Stewart and Richard Widmark. Winchester 73, one of the best.
River of No Return is a musical and vehicle for Marilyn Monroe but nonetheless is a good western.
Just remembered Ride The High Country.
So many. I love almost all.
