If I took a comment that did not agree with mine as condescending, then indeed I would have a problem. But I am a 46 year old woman who was just called 'young lady' by another grown woman---and I find that condescending.

Um... I'm 36, so that makes me the young lady around here.

Yes, you do, young lady. Er, Tec. Young and beautiful inside and out.

It also doesn't offend me to be called girl or gal or lil girl or youngster.

Good for you. I, however, do find it condescending, particularly when paired with the admonition that I have some growing up to do. Perhaps when you mature a bit, you will see the difference.
Disclaimer: I don't actually tell grown women that when they mature they will agree with me, but simply did so as an illustration.

Good for you. I do not allow people to call me gal, girl, lil girl or youngster. I may make an exception for those over 80.

Well, if you find it condescending in this case, you'd be wrong. And honestly, you look like you enjoy being offended. Lighten up and live a little. Life is too short to let your ruffled bloomers show all the time.
