Crazy. Double standard, but James is good at those.

Just Crazy, Just a Double Standard, or Both? Mean talk, NewChapter - and I have been making a deliberate effort to be nice to you.

For what it is worth, I am completely unconvinced of the currently popular scientific notion of Dark Matter and Dark Energy as well.

So I guess I am agnostic on that too.

Still Thinking - I will send you a PM. Under the circumstances, I think you will find it hilarious.

It isn't about doubt, as you suggest it is FlyingHigh. He's just being honest. The person who says he knows with 100% certainty about God's existence - for any side - is either foolish or arrogant. No one can be 100% sure, it's just impossible. That's the admission Dawkins makes. It's neither alarming or groundbreaking.

I want to reduce the amount of smug condescention and arrogance of the atheist crowd toward the believers

    Not mean talk?

To clarify the matter, a video a made a while back, Dawkins explains the apparent contradiction.

Still Thinking: Oh, Hell - I will just put it here. It is already on the Wibble thread anyway.

Believe it or not - former poster N.drew (remember her) became convinced that I had two post identities here and I was also posting as you - that is, that I was also "Still Thinking".

That happened because she asked me a question (repeatedly) and I replied the second or third time that I was still thinking. Get it?

We still email back and forth - (and she is doing OK) - and I finally convinced her that this was not the case.

But it is hilarious, isn't it? We would both have to be the worst split personalities since Sybil if that were true...

Thanks JJJ. He must have known that believers would make much more of this that was valid. Atheists will usually tell you there is no evidence for a god. By phraising it this way, they naturally leave open the possibilty that evidence could one day be found. It's the most honest answer we have, because we cannot prove a negative. It does not make Dawkins or the rest of us 'doubters', it just means that unlike those that are absolutely certain there is a god, we accept that we don't know all things, and evidence can always change a narrative.

So if I say that I can not prove the non-existance of Santa Claus that makes me an honest person?...cyberjesus
