The Watch Tower was cursed to lose this trial ... their attorney got his bachelor degree in 1975 (law degree in '85).

Hi One more thing. I think there should be a fully court press from all to contact every stinking news outlet on the plant. The Penn State thing is getting the lions share but this would be a worthing tag line. The more info out there the better. I agree with Purplesofa. Watchtower is not as well known as J. W. JW come to your door, they are everywhere. There is power in knowledge. Help inform the world. We may save someone. H.B

I really appreciated what BlindersOff1 said because it hit home with me. "So many talented, intelligent, caring damaged people. Damaged by a publishing company that morphed into a religion." That is exactly what happened. A small group of people primarily interested in studying the Bible and preparing for a hoped-for return of Jesus Christ in the early twentieth century has become a tyrannical monster that has seen fit to interfere with every aspect of its followers lives, even the most intimate ones. That interference has wrought havoc, pain, despair and even death upon countless victims. I hope these words from Isaiah 28: 14,15, 18,19 apply to them:
"Therefore hear the word of Jehovah, you braggarts, you rulers of this people who are in Jerusalem: Because you have said, 'We have a covenant with Death, and with Sheol we have effected a vision, the overflowing flash flood, in case it should pass through, will not come to us, for we have made a lie our refuge and in falsehood we have concealed ourselves.' Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord Jehovah has said, '...And your covenant with Death will certainly be dissolved, and that vision of yours with Sheol will not stand. The overflowing flash flood when it passes through--you must also become for it a trampling place. As often as it passes through, it will take you men away, because morning by morning it will pass through and during the night."
May the right prevail!

I've read every single post on this thread, running the gamet of emotions.
My thought is the same as Billy's~If this info goes mainstream, imagine the JW's going d-t-d now. The WTBTS might be telling the JW's to sequester themselves from all this, but the HH will certainly be clued in, and I'm sure some of them will definitely let the HH hear of it. Perhaps if heard enough, a JW might go home and do some research afterall.
Too, can you imagine going to a meeting and hearing. "ok friends. We want to pass a resolution of 1 million dollars to be donated to the kingdom hall fund. All those in favor? People looking around like, WTF? (crickets chirping)..then after a while some who feel obligated to not go against ANY resolution or those who are heavily medicated throw up their hand. ok...Very good..Very good. All those against?" More hands go up with a look of WTF!?
I can only hope that this news goes viral and at least SOME JW's wake up from their GB induced coma and get the hell outta dodge! Especially would I love it if some of my prior close friends would leave.
I'm so thankful this brave girl stepped forward..and some people are talking about if this case gets settled out of court, etc. It will get settled only if she wants it to, and by all accounts, this isn't about money to her, so I am hoping she goes for the jugular. If it's true, she can in fact sue the WT PA later on, by God Almighty I hope she does so. Let's hope this is the first brave soul in a long line of them to bring the WTBTS to is ruin, once and for all.

Bill Bowen just posted this moments ago: $20 million in punitive damages. That's $27 million for one case.

This may not be about money per se for the victims... but any money taken AWAY from the org is what I call a most gratifying redistribution of wealth.

If Kendrick is ordered to pay 60% of the $7M, that means the WTS is only responsible for 40%. 27% for the WTS and since they insure the Kingdom Halls, they would also have to pay the 13% against the congregation.
So, really the Society would only be responsible for $2,800,000. Am I reading this right?
Of course now, hopefully, they'll have to pay a lot more on the punitive damages.

So, is this like, the biggest news here ever, or what?
