I hope this open up the floodgates! I know a few childhood victims that were also victim of the policy to not report it to the authorities and are reaching out to them about Candace's story. I so hope this gives many more the courage to step forward and speak out!

When the out of court settlements for the California child abuse cases were made known some time ago, there was not much publicity in the press about those cases. Is there any way that the attention of the media can be stirred up to include references to those cases. Those cases were put under a gag order by the Watchtower.
Candace courageously refused to settle out of court.
I believe there is a need for the public to know that her case is not an isolated one time situation, but there is a series of abuse cases that have been persued over the years. Her case is the flagged pinnacle at the top of the peak.

Seriously, I'm absolutely delighted that the Daily Mail (the newspaper I grew up with) has picked this up. Hopefully other UK newspapers will now follow suit.
Nice to know British journalists work over the weekend after all!!

Unfortunately, since WT says they're going to appeal, there's a strong possibility that the $27 million dollars could get knocked down to a much smaller amount. Appeals can also drag on for a long time. I hope this doesn't happen but it frequently does when juries award large amounts

But we can socially get them out now. Include them in your tweets and FB pages. Like I've said in other threads...we didn't have "social networking" back then the way we do now. And just think of the future technology we will have. The WTBTS is going to get buried alive by the networking public. Not exjws or active jws, but by THE PEOPLE OF THE WORLD, through NETWORKING.
HA!! Who knew networking could be so much fun.

The WT if it could get away with it would not pay up at all, look at the Owen Moyles case. But this time the eyes of the Media are upon them, the basis for an appeal can be exposed for what it is when it occurs.
