Yes, I want to thank you too Barbara, it was date line, that shook me, hubby and my daughter the first time I saw the programme and set us on the road to waking up. Even though many times through the years we had concerns and doubts troubling us, this made it home something was wrong, I looked up your blog, the rest was history, and I hope this publicity will help many to start waking up.
So thank you for your bravery and standing up for what you believed to be right and standing up for vulnerable people who had no one to turn to and many had no one believing them.

Thanks Barbara. Although the article is well written, I am a little disappointed that the article does not write about how JWs will respond to Candace. I feel that JWs will victimize Candace again just because JWs will view that Candace brought reproach on the WTBTS instead of the WTBTS brought reproach on itself for its twisted policies that were created by Nathan Knorr and/or Freddy Franz.

Barbara, do you know how long the jury deliberated before rendering their verdict? And was there anything that the jury was hung up on that slowed down there arrival at a guilty verdict? Or does anyone else know the answers?

From what can be gathered from the court documents:
June 11, 1:40 pm, the jury began deliberations.
June 12, the jury wants to be reminded of some key testimony.
June 13, 2.47 pm, the jury gives its verdict and damages are awarded.
June 14, 11 am - 4.10 pm - 5 hours 10 mins (-½ hour lunch) for the jury to decide about punitive damages.

It really doesn`t matter if the appeals court knock down the amount she is awarded, it`s the publicity this story is generating that is the real issue here.C.C. could have settled out of court for X amount of dollars with a gag order,but she didn`t bless her, she went before a judge and jury and one . If it gets overturned that will generate a helluva lot more publicity for Candace Conti She is in a WIN WIN situation
Maybe we should forget about sparlock, and make Candace Conti t-shirts,coffee mugs ,etc.etc.
