What's the principle behind a woman making anything she touches at the time of her period unlean? Or maybe it was just that they didn't have 'sanitary towels or tampons' - and it was an obvious literal instruction ;)

@TD Thanks for the elucidation. Jesus was probably against those hardline Pharisees and Sadducees who obeys the letter of the law but not the spirit of the law.

the spirit of the law is obediance to those above you in society. jesus is of course telling the p and saduccees that he doesnt want to obey them. he never says they are wrong lr breaking any law. just read the ten commandments they are all respect first, goddness maybe. obwying and only worshipping jehovah is about paying ypur dues to those priests. its just an exclusive money grab. the 613 mitzvot could never be condensed in a few paragraphs, that scripture is overly simplistic.
even when the priests are worshipping false gods they still want your sacrifices and donations. read how josiah had to destroy the idols in the temple. they may not be faithful to jehovah but they always have their hand out...
