A lot of commentators are pointing to just that. Even some who were at the forefront of maintaining capitalism like Chalmers Johnson and Paul Craig Roberts.
One of the more interesting facets of this is that autocratic rule via King Louis, Napolean, The Kaiser's Germany, Hitler's Germany, and then World Communism during the Cold War - all attempted to overthrow Western Capitalist domination.
They all failed. But now Capitalism seems to be imploding due to its own inherent weaknesses.
