Something that never struck me before, is what would the quality of these records/notes be - made by Elders with no training or apt skills who are not full time 'Ministers' ...? I think generally JWs do regard themselves above the Law where it conflicts with WT policy - which is regarded as a 'Higher Law' as it's perceived as God's Law (give unto Caesar etc etc...basically ONLY what you have to). And, again for lurking newbies... http://www.silentlambs.org/education/92_murder_letter.cfm

Too often the law is an ass, perpetrators get off with a rap over the knuckles, and victims are victimized over again , so what do we do ,we keep chipping away until justice is done

    Never give up

Thanks Flipper for the thread, excellent thoughts and information.

I particularly like your point about the WT's lack of Morality and Ethics. This is underlined by how they immediately try to show that the law did not require them to do thus and so, who gives a FF when the lives of children are concerned about how much the law rquires ?

If it were "God's Spirit -directed Organization" as they claim then they would be moved by love to have the highest moral and ethical standards, and the very first thing Elders would be moved to do, without prompting by the WT Legal Dept. or anybody, would be to ensure the well-being and safety of the victims and to make sure evidence was not lost by:

    CONTACTING THE AUTHORITIES IMMEDIATELY !

Once the above has been done, and experts are already on the case, then pick up the 'phone to Legal if you must you spineless wimps whose conscience is dictated by the WT, but don't call them first.

    Flipper, good thread!

The hypocrisy of the WTBTS just continues to amaze and astound me. I can't believe I ever trusted these guys and believed that they were "God's Organization"!

Their legalistic, rule-oriented approach to worship makes the Pharisees look like a bunch of wannabes.

Good concise explanation at the core of the problem Midwichcuckoo

I am thinking this is bordering on Obstruction of Justice, at least, in Canada. Botchtower better be very careful how they proceed here.

This reminds me of when we were first married and this MS in the hall flipped out threatening to kill people. He threatened to shoot up where he worked and they fired him, this was back in the late 80's, now I am sure he would have been arrested by his employer.

Then this guy decided to kill my husband because he was an elder, in fact my husband was the only elder in the hall at the time. So this guy calls us up one night about 10:00 in the evening and says he has his gun loaded and he was coming over. I was so freaked out but my husband told me Jehovah would protect us. My husband did call an elder from the next congregation over that night who kept the guy on the phone until about one in the morning and the guys wife hid the bullets in the gun. From what his wife said after he got off the phone with the elder he picked up the gun to come over to our home and then he realized that she had the bullets and they got into a fight but it stopped him for the time being.

So the next morning my husband called Bethel to ask what we should do. The first Brother on the phone told us to go right away to the police. We were walking out the door when the phone rang again with another brother from Bethel telling us to STOP!!!!!! Bethel did not want the POLICE INVOLVED in anyway. We were to handle this on our own without any help.

My husband would not go the police after that no matter how much I begged him to. He had to follow Jehovah's command first he said and Jehovah was using Bethel. So my husband wanted me to craw on my hands and knees in our home for months in case the guy was hanging out by our home. We lived out of town about five miles, This guy made my life a living HELL for years, coming into where I worked and pointing his finger at me telling me I was a good as dead, he would follow me in his car when I was driving alone, and when ever my husband had an elders meeting, about ten minutes after my husband would leave the house our phone would ring none stop with the guy calling over and over telling me he had followed my husband and had killed him.

Funny thing is the guy started to threaten the next hall over, threatening to kill the whole hall. This hall got a restraining order on him. I now wonder if the elders in that hall called Bethel first or if they called the police first. I truly think they called the police first, I am sure now, which is just common sense. After the police were involved what was Bethel going to do tell them to take it back?

Yeh thanks Bethel for your love and support in my life.

Heaven, It is Obstruction of Justice in the US as well. These criminals got away with it. Had I done 10% of what these elders of Jehovah's Witnesses had/are doing, I would be sitting in the State Penitentiary today.

Another interesting point Mr.Flipper mentioned was about Watchtower Society's warning on not divulging information to any. Along with this BOE(Body of Elders) letter, a Circuit Overseer(we had his visiting in early May, pre-Candice Conti and Sandiago Watchtower pedophile settlement) warned congregation not to be inqusitive. In fact, 'being not to be inqusitive' is one of 7essential qualities for those who are facing Great Tribulation. Here's some of the points from my notes.

    • Some of us can't bear not being in the know....What's going on..What it is..divulging informations..
    • Electronic informations might be true or not. What motivate us to pass on the news from these source?
    • Some even record the some meeting and turned into their own persecution[by whom? ]
    • Less we know better we will be.

ON 'Do I trust Authority?'(it was also one of 7 points)

    • There are malicious lie, misinformations about Body of Elders and the Governing Body(I thought it was interesting that a CO included BOE along with GB but he solved my curiosty on following statements)
    • BOE are under the influence of Holy Spirit. What happened when BOE ask us to do something doesn't make any sense? Would you do it? YES!
    • Are we naive, brain washed? NO![yes, a CO actually said it!]
    • We trust our theocratic authority.
    • Building our trust theocratic authority will save our lives!

Priceless! It's all about 'theocratic warfare.' They'd better wake up sooner or later.

Balaamsass, Thanks for your kind offer. I will PM you in a while.

KS, Thanks for the warning but to their credit I am already in a big time shunning status.

LITS, these guys are in such paranoia when it comes with the government and police. We trusted our lives with these paranoid psychopaths.

Just read the letter again . . . it sounds so right, to keep confidential information, well, confidential.

Yet, I do remember an article where a "good example (name withheld)", who obtained information about a fellow jw from her place of employment in a medical center, felt impelled by her conscience to ask the so-called sinner to confess to the elders, and if this didn't happen, to rat them out.

This behaviour could and should cost her the job. So much for confidentiality! Not important . . unless its important to the WTS.

Mr Flipper has it right, the WT Society does believe that they are superior to the laws of the land - without the least justification.
