OUTLAW, sounds like the only thing that was missing at Long Binh was a KFC! Or maybe that's what was meant by "snack bars"?! lol

Any thing they say no matter how stupid, incoherent or illogical is gobbled up like manna from heaven.
Yes, I would agree with you there. It's painfully obvious when you listen to the recordings that Morris manages to get laughs from his awe-struck audience even when he's coming out with highly inappropriate comments and utter rubbish - they just lap it up (which is great, because it spurs him on to say more). However, I think there's a difference between being in an auditorium with a room full of fellow adoring fans, and then watching a YouTube video by yourself with the privacy of your own thoughts. You have the opportunity to think for yourself rather than jump on the bandwagon. Also, the comments are taken in isolation rather than as part of a thirty to sixty minute talk, so the power of the "beer goggles" is slightly more limited. There is less indoctrination before and after the comments are made, so they are made to stand for consideration on their own merits, if that makes sense?
Cedars
It does make sense.
And again, if it gets even one person to think, it's worth it!

Outlaw, You are not just funny but you made some valid points.
Anthony Morris from the YouTube video sounds inarticulate.
Back in the day NH Knorr was known as "not a speaker". His talks were matter of fact, boring, compared to Fred Franz, but at least I don't recall they were ever
" folksie ", and falling over themselves trying to get the right word or sentence out.
"Tony's" tone was disrespectful to any war vets listening and their families.
Did he get an honorable discharge?
This is the same kind of idiotic speaking as when they talk about higher education, and make the audience laugh about those who have a degree.
Who would even want this jerk as a friend? Maybe he does make a perfect GB member.
