Do you really believe that "sound doctrine" includes ignoring all the historical, biblical, and archaeological evidence proving 587? Do you really believe that Pastor Russell's analysis of the measurements of the Great Pyramid of Giza is adequate support for the WT doctrines regarding 607 and 1914?

Do you really believe that "sound doctrine" requires that a JW who signs up to use the pool at the YMCA should be disfellowshipped, yet the religious leaders of the same organization see no problem with becoming members of the "scarlet colored wild beast" UN in order to use some library?

Do you really believe that "sound doctrine" includes changing the definition of 'generation' to change from 40 years, to 70-80 years, to "wicked comtemporaries," to "the anointed," to "overlapping generations," to whatever their next unreliable interpretation is?

Do you really believe that "sound doctrine" includes requiring that young children of JW parents should die based on misinterpretation of ancient dietary restrictions under the Mosaic Law that didn't hold any death penalty?

That's a false equivalence particularly because WT says that tartarus is a condition of ignorance. That's certainly not the case here on JWN, because we have access to all WT literature and the material presented at JW meetings. Yet we are also educated on real facts and evidence that is denied to JWs. WT can't claim to be some great source of spiritual enlightenment when they require JWs to ignore anything that contradicts their evolving teachings.

I wouldn't make the claim that JWs are like the angels condemned to tartarus, however. Those angels had supposedly been given a choice in the matter. However, most JWs never had the choice to really examine all the facts before they were baptized. JWs are more like those that Jesus said had built their house upon the sand. Those that bought into the WT "end is at hand" false prophecies back in earlier decades and threw their lives into the WT recruitment campaigns have now grown old. If they were obedient to WT, they've saved nothing for old age and are now living off crumbs from Social Security, Medicare, and other government programs for the poor. The sand shifts under them as they read how WT says it was their fault for expecting armageddon to come sooner and that they need to rely on Jehovah to support them now. Hmmm, since their support is coming from the government, how are they supposed to condemn this 'evil system' that is supporting them in their old age?

Funny thing here is that EVEN IF the WT was right about 607BCE- and tey have been proven dead wrong ad nauseum- it would not make 1914 correct. There is a ridiculous leap of logic at every single step of the Bible hopscotch that supposedly points to that year. Like taking a verse that point blank says was fulfilled in Nebuchadnezzar and saying it had a greater fulfillment, with no basis...and then linking to unrelated verses.
