As an aside, I really hate it when posters point out that it's against JW policy to posts here....

Come on, folks: aside from the satisfaction it must give you on some level, is that REALLY what you want to accomplish by being here? Driving off active JWs who'd otherwise engage? It's downright stoopid (sic), the equivalent of cutting off ones nose to spite ones face, by simply reinforcing their JW belief system.

So much so, that I propose that any regular poster who can't resist the urge to say that automatically be considered as having committed a Triple-Lutz Cofty, enjoying all the derision earned thereof....

At least with a buffet you get to choose what to eat. With the meetings it's "swallow it all down or else"!

    +1 to King Solomon.

What I do not love is the flip-flopping teachings which the FDS tell me are from Jehovah, but are reversed years, months or even just weeks later.

Alright, I'm listening, when has the Watchtower EVER flip flopped? First off, there's no educational organization on this earth that hasn't had to adjust it's understanding from time to time, and the Slave Class isn't infallible. But to say they've flip flopped is nothing more than exaggeration.

I mentioned it on my post in a positive way, as a means of commendation. It's "common ground" (to coin a JWism) to build on, namely that he clearly doesn't take the Governing Body's leadership THAT seriously or he wouldn't be posting here in the first place. If he thinks of that particular admonition as being open to personal interpretation, then what other laws/doctrines is he flexible on?

Theocratic Sedition could easily be a genuine JW making these remarks, or he could be someone pretending to take this position to provoke a response. On the available evidence I don't see that there is any way to tell for sure which it is, despite those who declare that they know for sure it is a "troll".

We might as well take it at face value because there are definitely JWs out there who do feel the way Theocratic Sedition appears to, and they may be reading the responses.

Theo, the light getting brighter reference is made in regard to a rising Sun at dawn, wherein you could measure the increase in luminance with a light meter as only increasing; NOT getting brighter, then darker, then brighter, then darker, etc.

The Brighter light metaphor is NOT a game of "you're getting warmer/colder" that we all played as kids.... And WTBTS is not simply an educational system as you say: they claim to be Gods messenger....

Specific examples of 1080 degree flip-flops that even a prepubescent Russian gymnast cannot pull off can be found on jwfacts.com

It's one thing to sentence people to "death" based on bedrock doctrine. But to DF for dissagreement with flights of doctrinal whimsy that is later abandoned is sheer arrogance, the opposite of humility or pretend acknowledgement of imperfection. Cannot have it both ways and be anything but a hypocrit.
