I got asked some questions at the elders school, last year, which seemed suspiciously like they were narrowing down a suspect for a Scottish apostate elder.

I have to say that I really try not to pay to much attention to all the reasons posted for not attending. However I did rather like or at least appreciate the way you posted your response.
Unfortunately I am not in Autsralia (I know I missspelled that) So I can't take you and the misses up on your invite but thank you.

Dear friend, Mrs Ozzie and I feel for you at this time. It seems clear that we all must go through some pain, trauma, or whatever. It certainly can't come easy and how appropriate was the title of the book "Crisis of Conscience" for stress is inevitable if we are ever to face the real truth. We must confront our 'comfort zone', as it were. And no-one can do it for you.
Rather reminds me of our Lord's dying for us. No-one could do it for him. But he faced it, and the result has been to our eternal blessing.
Anyway, this is just a quick post. As a mutual friend would say: "Check your e-mail"! But just not yet!!

I had the privilege (lol) to be invited yesterday by a special visit at my door at 3:30 PM . They have nothing better to do on a nice sunny day but bother people, how sad. I will not be attending this year for the first time in 27 years. I see no need to as I feel it's all false teachings anyway. A self glorifying event arranged by self proclaimed men who claim they speak for god. Some feel the need to crash the event and partake of their emblems, that only gives the event more significance than it deserves. It means nothing to me any longer, I look at them as buffoons.

My mil and brother in law invited my husband.....lol, they didn't bother inviting me.
Third year non-attendance - and don't miss it. The idea of entering a KH just makes me want to gag. Yuck.

Yes. I've never been to one. I will probably go out of curiousity more than anything.

We had a visitor yesterday - field service overseer (not sure if that is the current "title"), someone who I served with and admired in my former life. Unfortunately, I was away on errands and my son did not open the door - so he stood there looked around and finally left.
The last meeting we attended was Memorial 2000 while we were on vacation. If we had visitors last year in 2001 inviting us, I must have missed that too.
I used to view not attending the memorial as something akin to blasphemy - now, if not for the posts on the board I probably would not have given the day a second thought. Amazing how things can change.
Now if I knew that they were serving a 1996 Whitehall Lane reserve Cabernet, I might be tempted......LOL, NOT - have no desire to step foot into the KH and contribute to their body count.

Yes i`ve been "reminded" twice from the elders in my former cong.but , not by any of the congrigation members. Why not you ask?
Because none of my "good friends" will speak to me any more! (I`m not D.F. or D.A.ed) Will I go this Thursday?.......No Way!
