Well I won't be running to live in the old White House. Clean 132 rooms all by myself? No thank you!
I'll just build me a little 2 or 3 room cottage by the sea and be very happy.
I'd rather dream then live out the rest of my life pissed off at the world for sure.
Not a bad little hangout!

The house has three-stories, with 9,150 square feet of floor space. It's got 12 rooms, and 6 bathrooms.
Yadirf,
You been fantasising about my home aquarium again?

It kinda looks like Beth Sarim.
Even if there were a comparison the PURPOSES of the two houses do not compare. The one is carnal, the other spiritual.
-------------------------------------------A house called Beth Sarim.
Below is the actual deed of this house, which Rutherford had built (in San Diego, California). Click here ( http://www.freeminds.org/video/vlc356.html ) for a movie presentation of what the house looked like from all quarters. Of course no one should pay any attention to all the introductory apostate hype/tone you'll hear, and read about here below.
Insofar as my own suspicions, I tend to think that Rutherford strategically had this built as a place of refuge for himself and/or all officers of the Society if the need arose, while at the same time being true to his expectations that certain men of the Bible were near to being resurrected and could live there after they returned (even as referred to in the deed below). Rutherford, due to his fearless outspokenness in condemning Christendom and the Devil's political system, was a most unpopular person in the world's eye. All should try to imagine themselves having walked in his shoes, assuming the responsibilities of his post! Given the fact that, as he faithfully bore the burdens that come with being President of the WTS, he put his whole being into carrying on with what Russell had started (once having put his hand to the plow he NEVER once looked back; Luke 9:62), I can't find it in MY heart to fault the man for having had this beautiful home built. As a matter of fact I can't imagine ANYONE in his day being more worthy of having such a magnificent place to flee to for relaxation and relief, and perhaps die in, than this man. When it's considered how exorbitant that many of the Clergy of Christendom live, is it really too much for a leading TRUE servant of the Lord to have this place, called Beth Sarim, particularly when the revenue allowed for it? Personally, I think not! -- Yadirf.

Beth Sarim - a copy of the deedsBelow is a copy of the deeds to Beth-Sarim. Despite their claim that Beth-Sarim was built EXCLUSIVELY for the use of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, etc etc, in the 3rd paragraph it can be clearly seen that Joseph Rutherford is mentioned as being the person whose benefit the property was built for!

Amazing
Hi Yadirf: Impressive. Wealth and mansions have little to do with lording it over people ... Jesus promised many mansions (Abodes) in heaven to his followers ... and I can't imagine God living in the heavenly Ghettos. Then, I saw Beth Sarim, being reminded of its grandure ... far better then the VP Mansion ... and so I think maybe you are right ... living in the Big House = Lording it over people.

Yadirf, is your tounge firmly in cheek when you defend this drunken scoudral of a man? Or are you just taking a big bite of that shit sandwich you're being served in due season? If the later, where should I send a mint?

You're a specialist at twisting things around. Seems to come with being an apostate.

There were a lot of people in those days that "used" liquor to ease physical pain. My own father was one of them, but I never viewed him as a drunk. You're a typical apostate asshole, if you don't mind me being frank as you've been about it.

Yes, the Vice President has a big house. I am not really sure what your point is. Every wealthy man or woman has one or several big houses. For crying out loud, do you expect Mr. Chaney to say no, I will live in a two bedroom, one bath house? I would love to live in a house like that, but I would not want the weight of the world on my shoulders, like Mr. Chaney does.
Regarding Beth Sarim, I could really care less. The Watchtower Society sold it soon after Rutherford's death anyway, so the fact that it was once a Watchtower property is pointless. The Watchtower Society sold it some 60 years ago. Can we find something newer than Beth Sarim to talk about?
Is this a light saber in my pocket or am I just happy to see you?

Okay, for your benefit I'll say it again:
As I considered the pictures in the magazine I thought of the scripture (Luke 22:25) where Jesus reminded his disciples: "The Kings of the nations lord it over them.... -- Yadirf.
All one has to do is look around and see that ALL worldly leaders require luxurious accommodations etc. Do you actually think many of them would want the job if they weren't promised all the luxuries that come with it? In contrast, Rutherford would've remained President even if he had to opperate out of a hut.Can we find something newer than Beth Sarim to talk about? -- JaySquawk.
Okay, so you're back to wanting to act like an jerk again. You expressed regrets for being that way one time before and promised that you'd be a nice guy after that. Good luck! -

Here I was thinking the V.P. lived in a trailer 'round back of the white house. Go figure!
Not a bad job perk. Maybe I'll send a resume...

I'd vote for you.
Doh!
We don't vote for the Veeps!!
Um..... never mind.
