I always accept the mags and act like I'm interested, but when I touch the mags I act as if they're hot, eg "Ouch! It's like they're on fire! How do you carry those around with your bare hands? Were they sitting in your car?". (If you clinch your hands really tight, you can dig your fingernails into your palms and simulate reddish "burn" marks that last a minute or so)

Then I hand them back, and they all touch them and say they're not hot, so they hand them back to me, and I repeat... (it can go on for 10 minutes)....

However, I see nothing wrong with me childishly immature or throwing the occasionaly provactive question/statement at them.

    and that applies on-line too

ill bet it worked. dubs are soooo superstitious. my mother told me about a (sort of)bible study who got up mid meeting and started yelling "satan, satan" and was escorted out by the brothers. i told her that it was either an x dub or a member of another church screwing with them. her reply was that jehovers spirit brought it out so the woman could be removed. so i asked why jehobos spirit let her walk thru the front door. a quick heart attack could have prevented the HOLY meeting from being disturbed.

lmfao at king sol. i am so going to use that one, i know that it will work. these ppl are just too gullible

I'm uncomfortable with public displays of weirdness for the sake of getting reactions from people, whether JW or not.

What if your display had led to either of the JWs suffering a panic attack and fleeing the scene and/or getting injured? Would you have found this hilarious?

I ask this seriously because the JWs had no way of knowing you were acting. Unknown individuals who behave in non-normal ways in public can evoke severe levels of anxiety in passersby and in this instance you purposely targeted them. The question of culpability is hard to ignore.

Steve2 - Hmmm.... I guess if I had behaved in a threatening manner or accosted them that might come into play. But since I did not, the question of cupablility does not come into mind. Muttering Sparlock to yourself is not akin to yelling " there is a bomb" on an airliner.

Like I said before, I don't think behaving aggressively (a la Danny Hazzard) is cool at all.

    Panic attack, LOL....

If someone is that fragile maybe they should not be banging on people's doors to have awkward and uninvited conversations with them about their faith.

Sparlock, my master where have you gone". Then I just ran away screaming SPARLOCK MY MASTER... in a pitiful and anguished tone.

Oh, really? From your point of view, you would say that. But you would also know that, to JWs - in common with other fundamentalist groups - the most terrifying notions revolve around being in the presence of "possessed" persons or property and your intention was to come across as "possessed" (you used the word). So, from the JWs point of view, if you had convinced them you were "possessed" you would be culpable for any negative consequences.

Oh, I see, we now have a new category called "true comedians" (in contrast to "false"comedians?) of which I assume you lump Cagefighter. And I had wrongly thought he was just making fun of JWs. I certainly missed the deeper intent and would do well to lighten up. Hilarious!

So, let's get this straight: In explaining what he did, Cagefighter states he was publically displaying his "weirdness". Fine. But in his thread title he said he "tried to convince the JWs on my street I was possessed".

Given the way the JWs view anyone or anything that is possessed, they must have looked like such easy targets for his amateur comedy hour.

As befits a country that gave us Candid Camera - in which the audience screams itself silly looking at fellow humans being tricked and fooled - you have opened my eyes to the uplifting value of these comedy skits. And if anyone is negatively affected, hey, tell them they're fragile and shouldn't be out and about doing their work. Go home and tremble indoors. Nice one.

Comedy - the new way to bully vulnerable people.
