    Not a joke:

Keep in mind that the people with their fingers on the button are among the most heavily vetted folks around. Loonies need not apply and all that.

If ET's are interfereing with nukes, I wish they'd step up and do a bit more.

That darned Prime Directive gets in the way, I'll bet.

By the way, the probability of life elsewhere in the universe is near certain based on probability and a lot of scientific assumption. Despite this I totally accept that life probably exists elsewhere. I have significiant interest in the idea of an asteroid bringing life to earth and continuing abiogenesis. We know that pathogens can survive in space!

Desptite this, any ufo that has very human flashing lights or very earthly combustion engines turns me off.

There is one person I can't decide whether I believe or not, that is Bob Lazar. His story is compelling, but at the same time... CRAZY. It is all very entertaining though when I feel like watching something that requires no concentration !

If anyone is in a position to monitor earth (and by extension ourselves). I would have to imagine that they look upon us like we would look upon squabbling chimpanzees fighting over a stick to beat each other with.

Still, it would be nice to think that somebody has our back. Maybe more someday..

    Nope.

Distances between planets are too vast. If they travel in "warp drive," they F up their own relative planetary time frame. Wormhole/inter-dimensional travel is almost impossible. For a ship to open it's own porthole, the energy required to initiate it would be equal to the amount of energy released by a sun-sized star over it's 9 billion year lifetime. This just isn't possible.

Keep in mind that some think these visitors are from another dimension or even within our solar system, besides different theories about warp drive. I would point out also that NASA announced recently that it was taking warp drive ideas seriously.

Yes, we aren't even a type 1 civ, they could be a type 2 or 3 and have technology far beyond what we've even thought of.

Why would they monitor when they can dictate their will, just like humans tell and control animals and plants on earth today.
