How can one have faith and have no clue and understanding what is written in the Bible?

    Jesus praised child-like faith.

Which pretty much IS blind faith....

Does a child have any other choice BUT to believe what they're told, and to trust their parents? Do they have the intellectual development needed for rational thinking, fed by life experiences that allows them to detect discern truth from fiction?

Basically: do they possess WISDOM? Have you seen a truly-wise 4 yr old?

So Jesus' praise of child-like faith IS in praise of BLIND FAITH, as it goes back to the Adam and Eve account where they were created as child-like naives, craving for the WISDOM that was supposedly magically bestowed by eating the forbidden fruit.

Faith is the BS Trump card of religion.

    Jesus praised child-like faith.

um, so does the Watchtower. Children do not have the capacity to scrutinize religious claims and counterclaims. Hence, religious leaders from time immemorial have spoken highly of child-like gullibility and ignorance - such qualities are pivotal to loyalty and faithfulness.

Conversely, warnings about pride and higher learning proliferate among the deeply religious because pride and higher learning spotlight too much bright light on frankly idiotic beliefs.

'dem active brain cells are certain death to faith. Be a child instead and please "just" have faith.

Sister just called, she talk with the young Minister and

he said he will be happy to talk with me and answer any

questions I may have. I am having second thoughts. He,s

a young man fresh out of a theology school. My sister thinks

because I was a JW that,s why Iam confused. But Iam thinking

this young man with his hold life in front of him, his inspiration

his dreams of one day having his own church. Don,t get me wrong

Iam not egotistical to think I could change that. But I was hoping for

    a more season minister.

It would almost be a pity to take that all away from him, if it were possible.

    Her response was priceless...

"What makes you think that the bible is middle eastern?"

    That’s what I believe.

Yup, Christ Alone, that's what it all boils down to, isn't it?

ChristAlone - You have redefined faith to mean something more like "wonder". We are talking about religious faith; faith in the existence and imminence of a supernatural being.

There is no connection between the two.

I am constantly amazed and moved by the wonders of reality.

Thanks cofty for clearing that up. I was trying to make the

connection with the topic and Christ Alone remarks.

Did I miss something, I thought we were discussing having faith

    in an absent GOD.
