  Not sure if this has been mentioned before, but is something that I always thought was complete BS.

  The one giving the talk or prayer or whatever from the platform addressing the entire audience as "brothers" .

  Complete and utter nonsense! To reason or make the excuse that it was done this way 2000 years ago is idiotic.
